Im glad theres a moderate Democrat finally running for president. I just wish he were running on the Democratic ticket. Jeb Bush, a likely Republican presidential candidate, called for respect of same-sex marriages on Monday as his home state of Florida began allowing gays to wed following a court ruling.
Bush, a former governor of Florida, said in a statement that even those like him who oppose same-sex marriage must respect the rule of law now that the states ban on gay marriages has been ruled unconstitutional. Do you know what else is the law of the land? ObamaCare. So I assume Jeb will ask us to respect the rule of law on that too!
When a gay marriage was against the rule of law, did the other side respect it...?

And if you don’t respect the rule of law, it’s an “act of love?”
Make up your mind, Jeb!
GDBUSHES
enough already
He married a Mexercan and so sees all Hispanics through her eyes
Does he have a cake boy in the woodpile?
Show contempt for the rule of law and expect us to respect the result AS LAW? Sure. When hell freezes.
I refused to in any way shape or form, mouth, respect or salute LIES in the form of the PC “truth of the moment” for about 40 years now. NOT gonna’ change.
It appears there are still lots of people deluded into thinking the Republicans care about social issues.
They do....as long as those laws meet with their agendas.
That said, my views on gay marriage is this: I believe gay couples should have the same rights as heterosexual couples, but it shouldn't be called 'marriage'.
However, marriage laws on age all over. You can be married at 15 in Georgia and Missouri with parental approval, so now will happen if a guy who is 25 wants to marry a 15 year old boy, will there be a lawsuit coming? I think so... within 3 years if not sooner.
bttt
My first thought as well.
Hahahahaha! I just love it. A few months ago the law was that Sodomite marriage didn’t exist. After some judges throw out the will of the people, we’re supposed to respect the rule of law.
Would he have also said Republicans must “respect the rule of law” on the concept of one man owning another as property?
Jebus is lecturing us and he hasn’t even been immaculated yet....I guess he’s acting on his royal prerogative.
I think (I may be mistaken) that most Americans who immigrated here legally from Mexico (or were here before their land became part of the United States) really, really don't like people sneaking in here illegally.
I think this is more of a 'gated community'/one-world order viewpoint that opens the doors to illegal invaders. Why need borders? There is no United States -- everyone is part of the United Nations of States run by bureaucratic royals like the Bushes.
Who determines the law in a democratic society?
If the citizens do not determine what is legal and illegal, can it be a democratic form of government?
If its about ‘unalienable rights’, then who decides what those might be? Are they subject to a vote? One man’s opinion? Or some ideology/philosophy/religion/system of ethics? And if so, whose?
I would just like to know how CHRISTIANS, who were 90% of the US population in 1980 and over 70% of the population today - how were these CHRISTIANS disenfranchised?
If Jeb wins in 2016 we are doomed!
And what will JEB say publicly regarding all people in the states, such as Proposition 8 in CA, along with many other states who rejected homosexual “marriage” via the ballot only to see renegade judges strike down the will of the people via the ballot box?
Just what about those renegade judges who create law out of political and personal opinion rather than the Constitution.
Whatever happend to Harry Truman’s words: “The will of the people is the law of the land.”
Will JEB speak of judges who have stolen our freedom from us by imposing their will?
JEB is a clueless tool.
GFY, Jebster.
IIRC, W and HW have mentioned that as a factor. I’m guessing that it is even more important to Jeb.
He said the same thing to Terry Schiavo as he allowed her to be killed.
Just goes to show he supports that abominable behavior. If you don’t like a law, you strive to change that law. You don’t roll over and play dead.
