Blades can be very effective in a close quarters fight. And a good slash across capillaries is just a bugger to close in the ER, so there is a very good chance they will bleed out.
You will get their blood everywhere, however.

Blades when used in combat tend to have a higher fatality rate than guns.

Especially Japanese sushi blades. I have two, they are razor sharp.

What idiot names their half Japanese daughter “Aichan”? If she goes to Japan, does she become Aichan-chan?

The chef not only caught the perp, but served him up artistically on rice wrapped with seaweed and a nice wasabi sauce on the side.

My dad bought a nice one for $200 in Kyoto. They require more maintenance than a semi-auto firearm.

Maybe her name is actually Ai-chan? Is Ai a Japanese girl’s name?

I did some research on this once and I believe it’s pretty much an urban legend.
Guns, as common sense would tell us, are much more lethal than edged weapons. That is, after all, why people who actually engage in combat started using them instead of sticking with the much older blades.

As usual, these comments are priceless.
BTW, John Belusi, we miss you dude!

Ninjas. They're everywhere.

" And a good slash across capillaries is just a bugger to close in the ER..." Are you sure you didn't meant to type "arteries" or even "veins"?

Yeah, Ai is a regular name, but to have the reporter write it down as Aichan is just weird.
