Updated, 1:10 p.m. | The 114th Congress is barely underway, but Randy Weber, R-Texas, says hes already paying a price for making known his intentions to vote against another term in leadership for Speaker John A. Boehner.
Weber, who is backing the long-shot speakership bid of fellow Texan Rep. Louie Gohmert over Boehner, has been removed as the lead sponsor of a nuclear energy bill expected to brought to the floor in the 114th.
During a small meeting Tuesday of about 10 members of the Texas delegation to discuss the speakers race, Science, Space and Technology Chairman Lamar Smith, R-Texas, told Weber that the speakers office had called and said Weber could not be the sponsor of that legislation, Weber told CQ Roll Call.
You know, Ive already been retaliated against. Ive been taken off of a bill, Weber said. The retaliation begins.
The speakers office denied that Weber had been targeted.
That is not true, Boehner spokesman Michael Steel told CQ Roll Call when informed of the story. The speaker did not make such a call.

the drunk bass turd continues as normal...
The speaker did not make such a call.
Presumably he didn’t, but his office did, at his direction. A non-denial denial.
They just elected Boehner. Frigging traitors. I could tell by their smug grinning smirks. The votes were usually one each for the states. They simply will not do what the people want. They need to be in jail.
Well at least we know taxes will not go up .../s
I figured the Praetorian for the Oligarchy would be standing under the shadows of the galley ready to pounce on those who would dare defy their rule.
If I was a liberal in 2015, I’d be laughing and pissing in everyone’s face too.
A “moderate”, “big tent” government clearly means Obamaism. :)
How do you remove someone as the lead sponsor of a bill? I am certain there will be retaliation, especially against the uppity People who think they have a choice, but this seems silly.
The GOP has sealed its doom.
Establishment Republicans are no better than union thugs and other Democrats when it comes down to it. They just want to better themselves and their minions, and, maybe, placate their voting base on occasion.
I know the speaker controls what legislation can be introduced, but I didn’t know he also controls whose name is on it. Maybe the speaker’s office told other members that their legislation would not move forward if Weber’s name was included as a sponsor.
How can a co-sponsor be “removed”? By taking his name off the paper? He should announce that he is still a sponsor, and credit himself as such. He should also hire a private investigator to look into the personal lives of Boehner and his family and release every word and photo to the tabloids.
If you are going to shoot the king, you had better to hell not miss....
There shall be no second chances. Or mercy.
“A non-denial denial.”
In other words a bald face lie.
The GOP and me are finished. America is finished with that traitor Bonehead. We are done.
“Absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
Actions such as these prove how far the GOP has strayed. Don’t be sending me no contribution requests, Mr. B et al.
When the torches and pitchforks come for the democrats boner and mcconnel and their GOPe supporters will be forked along with the National Socialist Democrats.
God damned Ohio, land of my ancestors; I wish you all of the ill possible for inflicting the disaster of boner on us and the Constitution.
Those bastards don’t represent us, they represent themselves and their phony balony honey pot jobs. Evil wishes to all of them.
The 28 should vote present on every bill Boehner puts up for vote, until he resigns.
The GOP, the party of RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE
and RomneyMarriage and Boehner/McConnell/ObamaAmnesty
and the Bengazi coverup, and the IRS coverup,
deserves its end.
NOTHING has changed. NOTHING.
The GOP remains the GIVE Obama Power Party.
