Texas Republican Louie Gohmert said there is “real intimidation” happening in the fight to determine who will be the next speaker of the House of Representatives.
Gohmert announced Sunday that he is running for speaker to unseat John Boehner (R-Ohio). Glenn Beck warned him Monday that if he doesn’t win, his political future is over.
“If you don’t win, you’re toast,” Beck said. “And that’s exactly what they’re going to be saying [to those who don't vote for Boehner]. That’s what Boehner is saying to everybody right now. ‘Listen, you don’t vote for me, you don’t play ball with me now, you’re not getting on any committee. You’re not going to be heard from again.’”

Those “representatives” weren’t sent there to support Boehner. They were sent there to support this country, and we the people that sent them to D.C. for that purpose. They shouldn’t give a crap about Boehner. It’s the country they should care about, and we the people they promised to serve.
Let’s make it clear.
If they thought they could get away with it, there are plenty of politicians in DC who would do murder to keep their jobs and perqs.
In fact, I have no doubt that there are some who would murder millions of people to keep their jobs.
Maybe it’s JUST ME, but I don’t see how being on the House Asia-Pacific Interrelational Infrastructure Sub-Committee or whatever the hell is so important to them is worth SELLING OUT your country and your voters for.
I just don’t see it...maybe it’s me.
Boener shouldn’t have ANY LEVERAGE, whats-so-ever...If I had ONE VOTE in the House I would be VERY HAPPY with that...and that alone, just as Dave Brat is.

Boehner is not a King, and Americns shoudd rise up against wishful king types.
Boehner has morphed into Pelosi. May be she’s advising him.
We we find out who the brave conservatives are and who are the fake
conservatives are tomorrow.
It's not "hysteria!" Can't you see that he's absolutely right? I can and I'm not even particularly fond of Beck!
If you are on an important committees, then the entities which that committee regulates have an incentive to give you campaign contributions. Lobbyists will invite you to lunch and to cocktail parties and to junkets in nice places. Extremely beautiful women will want to spend the evening with you to "discuss pending legislation".
If you are not on any important committee, then the DC insiders will have little interest in you.
My Congressman is AWOL on this issue as he’s been mentally compromised since his election and Cochran and Wicker have been directing his decisions.
GMTA - exactly my first thought, too. Not too many Mr. Smiths around these days, more are in the mold of Frank Underwood.
I hear you...something is DEFINITELY BROKEN in that system, of course.
