I’m getting over it. Its bad but I’ll live and no I still wouldn’t waste time getting a shot unless I were high risk for complications.
I do. I stay inside and/or wear a scarf over my mouth when I’m out and about.
Hell no! I’m not putting that crap in my body. I never get the flu either, btw.
Got it right now. The flu shot missed the mark this year. The CDC guessed wrong.
Once every several years for me and this was the year.
I’ll live.
I remember the “swine flu” in the 70’s.
More died from the shot than the flu.
I will pass.
I trust no one who gets a raise for how well they push their worth.
I am working my way thru the flu as we speak. I am a “senior”, and have both read, and been told by my physician, that the flu shot isn’t very effective once you are over 65.
This has something to do with the way our immune systems age. I think, but am not sure, that “they” tried a stronger or double dose to overcome this, but the statistics do not support a reduction in flu illnesses and deaths among seniors. The rates have actually risen since the flu shots were introduced.
The additives added concern me. Mercury, and other questionable “ingredients” added to “improve” immune response could be damaging to health, particularly over the years.
I have treated my flu with colloidal silver, elderberry extract, vitamins, lots of water, and bed rest. I think I am getting over the initial symptoms without any progression into the sinuses or chest.
What works for me may not be wise for others, with different health concerns. Since I live in a “senior” facility, I am isolating myself from others until I am past the point of shedding the virus - at least a week from the onset of symptoms.
The flu shot is a crap shoot. Still I get them most every year since I do a lot of airplane travel. When I take it still can get a cold but never had the full blown flu when taking the shot. Coincidence? Maybe.
My mother got Guillain-Barré Syndrome from the 1976 flu shot.
Here’s hoping you both are back to health soon!
———Everyone around you seems to be coughing and sneezing, and all you can think is, I should have gotten a flu shot.-——
No, I think I need to double my D3 pill for a couple of days...
Influenza ping...
I had jury duty today and was in a room filled with 300 people coughing and sneezing....I'm 71, I hope I don't get it.
I got the flu shot early this year though, so....
Its not just a flu, its an adventure.
Sweating one minute, shivering the next.
Yeah I took a lot of D3 and fortunately never lost my appetite so I could get plenty to eat and keep my strength up.
I've been posting the below article for eight years.
I take 30,000 IU a day now.
Thanks... I am almost sure that post started me taking D3... Years ago...
I am honestly say in the past six years., I caught a very minor case of the flu when everyone else was hit hard and I dio not remember getting the common cold even once...
They colored my state of South Carolina correctly... RED :)
Never had a flu shot, never will. Don’t much believe in tempting Providence.
FWFW, I haven’t been sick, except for some mild seasonal allergies, in seven years. Could be a coincidence, but seven years ago is when I started taking 5000 IU of Vitamin D3 per day. Buy dirt cheap at Wal*Mart.
