The owner of the St. Louis Rams has announced intentions to build a massive new NFL stadium and entertainment complex in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood.
Stan Kroenke revealed the grand plan to the LA Times on Monday. In addition to an 80,000-seat stadium, the billionaire and his partners are proposing an adjacent 6,000-seat performance venue.
Los Angeles was home to the Rams from 1946 to 1994 and, as St. Louis scrambles to come up with a plan for a new stadium in order to retain the team, the City of Angels appears ever more likely to get a pro football team after two decades without one.

I’ll believe it when I see it. They’ve been talking about a new stadium there for 25 years. Plus with all the illegals there, I would think soccer would be more popular than feetsball.
the Lakers played there for years at the Forum, which was right off the 405 Fwy. This stadium would also be a short drive off the same artery. The location was the old Hollywood Park racetrack,
...yeah, but going to the Forum for a night game...loved the pre Gretz hockey events...was an adventure best enjoyed from an uparmored Humvee or equivalent. Just stopping at red lights was getting close to a possibly fatal encounter. Really bad neighborhood once you left the protected Forum parking lot, and you had to travel miles to get to the freeway on ramp which was not the quickest route to the Marina, but was the safest. Put the stadium in Upland for the cheap land and invite the fans of the Inland Empire...

The LA Galaxy plays soccer right down the street, at StubHub Center, in Carson. The seating capacity is only 27,000, but it is the largest soccer specific stadium in US Major League Soccer. I went to an NFL Futures game there, a few years ago. It’s a really nice venue.
“Not a finger....”
I have used hotel coupons to stay in Inglewood close to the airport. I predict a renaissance in the vicinity, the cheap hotels will be torn down and the pricey ones built.
By largest you mean roughly 1/3 the size of the unrestricted seating capacity of CenturyLink in Seattle (67K), home of the Seattle Sounders, who AVERAGED over 43K every season??? (which is above their restricted capacity of 38K). Before you get all huffy about the Galaxy being the primary tenant ... part of how CenturyLink was sold was based on the inclusion of MLS.

I do the DVR thing too. The only problem is with the fast offenses like the Eagles....the skip button advances too far and you miss the next play so in those cases I have to speed it up double time and be quick with the play button to catch the next snap.
They never wore those blue jerseys at home. Always wore Road whites in the coliseum.
Thanks for your reply. Respectfully, the source of information is:

I believe the operative term is “soccer specific”.
No intent to get huffy, my four nephews all play soccer in Seattle, one of them even got to do a workout with his H.S. team, on the CenturyLink field, after a Sounders game.

You forgot the sarcasm tag.
Just like the Cowboys.
‘TV’ football is not all that interesting nor entertaining. After about the age of 30, you’ve pretty much seen everything.
Only morons can watch “da game” all day Sunday and Saturday...with Friday Night, Monday Night, Thursday Night thrown in.
The whole ‘King Football’ time-suck has become a modern day bread and circuses for our increasingly zombied nation.
I’d say...instead of sitting around clapping and yelling at a screen. Get off your butt and go to a game.
Then again, who can afford the $100’s it takes these days?
We used to call Inglewood “Ingle-Watts”
Have they cleaned out that cesspool in the past 20 years?
Havent been near there in 7 years, but it was indeed referred to as Ingle-Watts.
Our DVR has a 20 second skip button, so it’s real easy to jump commercials, just press it 6 or 7 times. It also has a slow motion pause so we can see the fouls or fumbles really close......................
Yup, although back in the 1950s I think the Rams wore blue at home.
Hay wait! Wasn't that also in Inglewatts???
Irwindale.
Wull... They both start with “I” so, see!!! (snort!)
