Palin to PETA: ‘Chill. At least Trig didn’t eat the dog.’

Sarah Palin has a message for the animal rights activists who blasted her for applauding her son Trig’s idea to step on the family dog to reach the kitchen sink: Chill!

In a letter to PETA posted on her Facebook page Saturday, the former Republican vice presidential nominee accused the group of having double standards when it comes to expressing outrage:

“Chill,” Palin wrote. “At least Trig didn’t eat the dog.”

On Thursday, Palin posted the controversial photos of Trig, who is 6 and has Down syndrome, standing on the dog, Jill.

“May 2015 see every stumbling block turned into a stepping stone on the path forward,” Palin wrote in a New Year’s Day message.

On Friday, PETA released a brief statement condemning it.

I love my dogs. I hate PETA. Really? If the dog were in pain, it would have moved. Grow the F up and on this score, go get 'em Sarah.

Trig didn’t eat the dog like Obama did.

Kids do dumb crap, sometimes potentially harmful. Most parents choose not to share it with the world.

I love this woman. Mostly, I love it when she does stuff like this.

I mean, it's almost like she's just baiting them in, and when they take the bait, she comes in with these well planned one liners that devastate them.

I think she's having so much fun living in their heads that we can expect a lot more from Sarah.

I love the say Sarah pulls the rug from those who consider her stupid.

The kid was not standing on the dog. His foot was on the dog. No weight on the dog.
The left, including peta, is a bunch of hypocritical bastards.

Actually, there was one photo with him standing fully on the dog.

Regardless, if the dog was uncomfortable in any way,
he would have moved. Dogs do that.

Looks like Jill is quite used to having Trig stand on her. Labs will do a lot of things for the humans they love.

Eventually Trig will grow too large and Jill will grow too old for this trick to be fun. At that point she won't let him stand on her anymore. Until then, it's between them and really none of my business.

Actually in one of the pics, he is clearly standing on the dog.

She is loving her life. There is no way in heck she is running for President. She is making too much money and wouldn’t want to stop the income. Good for her. She certainly tries to get attention which is wonderful.

"Until then, it's between them and really none of my business."

The issue isn't who's business it is. If the photos are distributed by a family member, they invite everyone into that 'business".

That is not to say I care at all. My comment has nothing to do with what is happening in the pictures, but rather how sound the thinking is in sharing them.

You're right, the son was indeed standing on the dog. There's only two possible explanations, either the dog didn't mind it or Sarah shot and kill it first........

When my son was three we had a German Sheppard that he rode like a horse...when he would go outside the dog would stand by him until he got on. The dog seemed to like it more than my son. We stopped him when we felt he was too big.....the dog still wanted him to ride. Most dogs crave the attention of their human families.

In my younger days I had a dog that I would wrestle. Some times my weight would be on him and I weighed a hell of a lot more than Trig. The dog loved it and would keep coming back for more. I’ve seen dogs get hit by cars, get up shake it off and be perfectly fine. Now if this were an elderly dog my opinion would change.
