Yes, if democrats vote for Boehner, then the numbers change. But do you really expect democrats to vote for Boehner? At most they may vote present to help reduce the majority threshold.
Honestly, yes, I do. Why should they waste a vote for Pelosi? Boehner is truly their best friend. I won't be surprised if they get orders from S.F. Nancy or Hussein to vote that way.
If it goes to round two, do Democrats get to vote? And in round two, if only people who received votes in round one can be voted on, wouldn’t it be in the rats interest to vote for Pelosi, just to throw a wrench into the proceedings?
I know Pelosi wont’t do, but if I was her, I would encourage my caucus to vote for Boehmer. He’s the evil they do know, to a point where Boehner will work with her. Plus that screws the TEA party. If Gohmert wins, the Establishment will be hard pressed not to support conservative efforts.
This exact scenario happened in the NH House of Representatives two weeks ago.
The GOP took back the House. The former GOP Speaker was chosen by the caucus majority as the "official Republican candidate". He is hated by RATs and RINOs because he is a patriot.
So, a number of GOPe traitors nominated a RINO and denied the "official" Republican candidate on the first ballot.
The RINO was then elected with both Republican and Democrat votes.
BUY A CLUE. They don't care about labels. They care about winning.
If Pelosi and Obama want Boehner to stay, he has 188 Democrat votes in his pocket, and only needs 30 RINOs to win.
It is, IMO, a done deal.
