Republicans rising up to remove Boehner

Congressman Louis Gohmert (R-TX) appeared on Fox News' "Fox and Friends" Sunday morning to announce that he is officially challenging House Speaker John Boehner for leadership of the party. Gohmert told Tucker Carlson that Boehner has repeatedly broken core promises to the American people and stabbed the conservative movement in the back at every turn.

Defying "establishment people" who defend Boehner's unmistakably left-wing RINO track record, Gohmert threw his hat in the ring and declared that it "is time for a change." He cited recent polls showing that 60% of Republicans want Boehner removed immediately, and that many Republicans are looking to abandon the party altogether at this point.

Gohmert looked into the camera and stated his message to Boehner: "You deceived us when you went to Obama and Pelosi to get your votes for the Cromnibus. You said you'd fight amnesty tooth-and-nail. You didn't. You funded it." Conservatives across the board have been repeatedly alienated and betrayed by the House Speaker as he surrendered on every major policy fight, aided relentless Democrat attacks on the Constitution, and declared war on the mainstream Tea Party movement.

This oath-breaking leftist abandonment of founding GOP principles has prompted a fierce backlash with conservatives and the creation of numerous "Dump Boehner" groups, as well as several challengers now running against him for Speaker. Oklahoma's Jim Bridestine, Kentucky's Thomas Massie, and Florida's Ted Yoho have all stepped up to replace the wildly unpopular liberal Republican.

I’m glad you find your suggestion humorous. I don’t.

What I don’t get is how it is even possible for Dems to get a speakership nomination when they are a minority. Has this ever happened before? There should be no possibility of this ever happening when the losing party can get the leadership position. EVER.

Drudge was an early Romney backer. That most likely means he supports Boehnor as well.

If Boehner wins and then takes Congressman Bridenstine off the House Armed Services Committee, it will be time for taking severe political armed action.

fixed it

If that is the case then EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE RINOs that voted to keep Boehner need to be primaried ASAP! We need their names and publicly tar and feather them either figuratively or literally. They cannot get away with this.

What Boner did deserves his removal from speaker. Every congress-critter that votes to keep the Boner erect deserves to be “Cantored”.

yes! Say it loud and often!

If anyone tries to primary every single one of those who vote for Boehner, they will fail badly. You have to pick your targets. If you do that right, you can concentrate efforts on race that will matter. Nothing changes a politician’s attitude more quickly than seeing just one of their number going down in flames.

The Demos can’t win, it’s in the math of the house vote. This is a “free vote” to elect someone other than Boehner.
