**SNIP**

The children, most of them less than 7 years old, were ferried to the city's police stations, where they had to spend the night. At one crowded city beach, 35 children were handed in, according to authorities.

South African's reacted with shock on social media.

"I am battling to understand, how do you lose a child on a beach? And you still go home? It is sad," tweeted one Cape Town resident with the Twitter handle WaMputhi. "If I travelled with a child, I will not leave without him/her even if it means no sleep searching," he added in another tweet.

Watching a child is a full time habit that only mothers can do properly.

Feminist moms rely on other people who can’t/won’t learn the habit.

So, bad things happen to kids.

I don't think what this particular article is describing is a modern Western problem.

Ref “FWIW, when Jesus was 12 his family misplaced him for three days” ......

And they searched for him frantically for much of that time....

And I didn’t think black people cared for beaches, at least not Americna blacks?

First, this is in CAPE TOWN, which is not in the US.

Second, blacks like to go to the beach. They even wade in the water.

The question that popped into my head was, If there are hundreds of children 'lost' on a tourist beach, how come they all seem to get 'turned in to the police' ?

You would think some enterprising kidnappers/sex slave traders would hang out there and make a killing.

You don't think The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the UN and Obama are pouring money into South Africa to “educate” the women?

I can certainly imagine how you could lose track of a child on a beach like that. But as someone else said, I can’t imagine just leaving at the end of the day with the child still not accounted for. Heck, not even if it was just the family dog that was unaccounted for.

It’s amazing we have gone that far down the responsibility department.

I was once on the board of our Community and the woman in charge of the swimming pool was having a heck of a time with people leaving their children alone, at the pool, when there was no lifeguard. Up to this point, the children were always accompanied by an adult, usually the parent; but, times had changed (about 10 years ago). We had a discussion about this, and she said something that I still remember; "People just don't know how to raise their own kids anymore."

I noticed that. The shark is actually smiling. (That's the same smile I have when the meat thermometer in the New York strip reaches 145 degrees.)
