EXCLUSIVE: All it took was a plane ticket, and an informal background check over Facebook. Then he was ushered to the front lines in Syria, fighting against the Islamic State.
In a rare, exclusive interview with Fox News, a U.S. military veteran with multiple tours in Iraq detailed his journey to Syria to fight against ISIS, on the condition his identity was protected.
The veteran, who asked to be identified as John, described a surprisingly simple process that took him from America to the dangerous Syrian civil war and not as part of the U.S. military.
"I just went online and bought a ticket. It was that easy. It was like booking a flight to Miami Beach," said John.
Then he found a Kurdish group known as the YPG

YouTube is full of videos from the anti-terrorist/anti-ISIS Syrian fighters.
There are some members of German Biker Gang fighting with the Kurds against ISIS. Seems to be that if you have the motivation and a willingness to pull the trigger, you are 1A with the Kurds.
Been Keeping tabs lately?
Yeah, I read about it a while ago
Costs maybe $1k.
If you take an extra $500 you can buy a good rifle and ammo once you get there.
What is the back story here?
NO ONE uses their money to march into battle alone.
Someone might if they wanted the thrill to kill.
That’s a pretty expensive vacation.

The ex-U.S. Marine Sgt. that was fighting with the Right Sector militia, that was interviewed by BBC, was killed a few months ago.
There are a few (4-5) Americans fighting with the Luhansk and Donetsk militia’s, as well as people from a bunch of other nations, especially France, it seems. Several Serbians have been killed fighting for “Motorola”, who now commands Strelkov’s former Slavyansk force.
The Donetsk rebel group has even started an “Internationale Brigade”, for westerners and others volunteering to serve.
Was reading earlier these groups have warlords attempting now to take over.....witht heir next domaine Kiev itself.
There’s so much more happening their then our news is telling us. A real block out on the huge Nazi parade for their hero today....right in Kiev. Interesting the EU saw it and are speaking out against this happening.
Poroshenko is radical enough or he would be letting some of these appointments happen....but these other guys won’t mess with him when they’re ready to take over....they may very well do so as long as the US gives them cover by blaming it all on Russia.
“Thats a pretty expensive vacation.”
The Israeli’s have had an official set-up, for years, where you can go to Israel and help the Israeli Army in a non-combat role for 1, 2, or even three weeks at a time. About 1,000 Americans a year, show up for the limited amount of slots. Being Jewish is not required.
My best friend and I have looked into it.
It’s called “Volunteers For Israel”, and is an official Army program.

“A real block out on the huge Nazi parade for their hero today....right in Kiev”
I saw that, as well as lots of pics and video of the big Bandera/Nazi parade and celebration in Dnepropetrovsk.
I agree, but that isn’t what this story is about.
