Alice Cooper, Christian: The world belongs to Satan
CNS News ^ | 12/31/2014 | Michael W Chapman

Posted on 12/31/2014 9:31:15 PM PST by NetAddicted

Alice Cooper, the shock-rock megastar who makes Marilyn Manson look like a choir boy, stopped his hard-partying ways and returned to his Bible Christian roots in the late 1980s and today, still hugely popular and touring, says he isn’t shy about discussing his faith, says his early songs always warned against choosing evil, and contends that the world we live in “doesn’t belong to us, it belongs to Satan.”

“The world doesn’t belong to us, it belongs to Satan,” said Alice Cooper. “We’re living with that. We’re bombarded with that every day.”

“[A]lmost everything I wrote was good and evil,” he said. “Don’t pick evil. Even when I wasn’t Christian, I was saying that. God and the Devil. Don’t pick the Devil. It’s a bad idea.”

Alice Cooper (born Vincent Damon Furnier) shot to mega-stardom in the 1970s and early 1980s with hits such as “I’m 18,” ‘Schools’ Out” and the 1973 album, Billion Dollar Babies. He also was notorious for his demonic makeup and costumes and macabre theatrics on stage, which included simulated suicide and the decapitation of baby-dolls, among other dark antics.

Alice Cooper was nominated for two Grammy Awards and he and his band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. He has played roles in several movies, including Wayne’s World with Mike Myers and Dana Carvey and, perhaps most ironically given his shock-rock music career, Cooper is an avid and skilled golfer.

Cooper scored a two-over par 74 on The Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., a world-class course; he played in the All Star Cup in Newport, South Wales; he has appeared in commercials for Callaway Golf equipment; and he is the author of Alice Cooper, Golf Monster.

Understand LP's with the original bill are worth a premium.

I'll bet it is! I don't have that one. Some of the albums (vinyl) that I do have might be collectibles at this point, too, but I never looked into them to be sure.

How can existence be evil? God created creation. He saw that it was Good. He is the great I Am.

Existence is not evil.

Since the fall of Adam, Satan has been the ruler of this world,
Lk 4:5-7; Jn 12:31, 14:30, 16:11; 2 Cor 4:4; Eph 2:2.

I went to a concert (many, many moons ago) and the warm-up act was Santana during the Abraxas (Black Magic Woman) tour. I don’t recall seeing Schon but was mightily impressed by Carlos.

When the main act came on stage, it was clear Santana was a far better guitarist in terms of communicating the emotion of the music.

The main act was “Derek and the Dominoes” - aka Eric Clapner - who opened with “Layla”, the song about Patty Harrison. Amazing opening riffs...but I still preferred Sanatana’s geetar playing.

Same with Greg Rollie. Early Santana saw themselves as a band, NOT a guitarist. BTW, I have a friend from my band days who makes a very good living as “Santana” in a copy band called “Evil Wayz”.

When the Devil tried to tempt Jesus he offered him all the kingdoms of the world; most disturbingly, Jesus never said they weren’t his to offer.

Sing me a song, you’re a singer
Do me a wrong, you’re a bringer of evil
The devil is never a maker
The less that you give, you’re a taker
So it’s on and on and on, it’s heaven and hell
Oh well

The lover of life’s not a sinner
The ending is just a beginner
The closer you get to the meaning
The sooner you’ll know that you’re dreaming
So it’s on and on and on, oh it’s on and on and on
It goes on and on and on, Heaven and Hell
I can tell
Fool, fool

Oh uh
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Well if it seems to be real, it’s illusion
For every moment of truth, there’s confusion in life
Love can be seen as the answer, but nobody bleeds for the dancer
And it’s on and on, on and on and on and on and on and on and on

They say that life’s a carousel
Spinning fast, you’ve got to ride it well
The world is full of kings and queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
It’s heaven and hell, oh well

And they’ll tell you black is really white
The moon is just the sun at night
And when you walk in golden halls
You get to keep the gold that falls
It’s heaven and hell, oh no

Fool, fool
You’ve got to bleed for the dancer
Fool, fool
Look for the answer
Fool, fool, fool

I’m eternally grateful for “School’s Out.” It affirmed my opinion of school, back in the day.

Is Alice the one that has a daughter who is very attractive. In an interview she made some comment about it being embarrassing as kid because her father wore more makeup than she did? Am I remembering correctly?

Existence, goodness, beauty, oneness and truth are convertible terms, so, yeah. It's like saying that good is bad.

He’s got a point actually. Satan has been given free roam over earth, it’s his territory. When Jesus comes again he will set it all right, but it’ in the bible if you want to read it.

I know it’s not a comforting thought, and yes God is in control, everything is going according to his plan, but we’re still in enemy occupied territory.

Heck, if God can turn Saul around and use him for great things, he can do that to anyone.

I struggle with this too. There’s really bad people out there, and yet we’re supposed to love them, and God does turn hearts around. I guess we can’t always know his logic, but he’s got a plan and sticking with it.

You don’t think you were born with original sin? You don’t think that unless you confess with your mouth to Jesus and believe in him then you are headed for hell? These are pretty basic biblical teachings. If you believe the bible, you have to look at the entire thing, not just the parts you like.

If people weren’t evil we wouldn’t need Jesus on the cross. Your idea of evil may differ from mine, but anything unclean in God’s eyes is evil.

Battle was won at Calvary, I agree, however it’s clear that Satan rules the earth for the time being. That’s biblical. I know it’s not fun to think about. This is why we need to put on the armour of God daily. The enemy has free reign and roams the earth looking for souls to devour. We need to stand up armed with his word.

You can blame Adam and Eve if you like, but they created a rift between man and God, which is why Jesus had to come. We are born with original sin. We need to seek him and be saved. Otherwise, he wouldn’t of had to come and suffer greatly and die for us.
