I am kind of curious about what kind of bizarre science the guy is using to claim the oceans are collecting heat in preparation of a sudden massive release.

Yup, why would they suddenly start selectively absorbing heat when they they had not done so after the last 12,000 years as we came out of the ice ages? Especially since the warming since the industrial age is only around 1 degree C? This would also imply some linkage between CO2 levels and ocean heat retention.
