Foreign high-tech workers are taking American jobs and making Silicon Valley's diversity problem worse, Rev. Jesse Jackson said in a Fortune interview.

"There are Americans who can do that work, and H1B workers are cheaper and undercut wages," Jackson said, referring to the class of visas most often used by tech workers.

No there aren't and blacks qualified and trained for such work are rarer than hen's teeth.

A dozen years ago I worked alongside a black Senior Unix administrator on Unix servers and workstations. Really qualified and intelligent. However, he was an immigrant from Nigeria. During cutbacks they laid him off, and I pleaded to management to rescind the layoff, as it was difficult to hire Unix experts as qualified as him in integrating hardware and systems. They kept him. As you say, difficult to find any home-grown blacks qualified for hi-tech work. I've known some, but the ratio is low compared to whites and asians.

I wonder if he realizes that any type of Democrat-inspired “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” will DRASTICALLY INCREASE the number of H1B’s, as that is needed to bribe enough Republican sellouts for that type of bill to pass.
