Foreign high-tech workers are taking American jobs and making Silicon Valley's diversity problem worse, Rev. Jesse Jackson said in a Fortune interview.
"There are Americans who can do that work, and H1B workers are cheaper and undercut wages," Jackson said, referring to the class of visas most often used by tech workers.

damn... almost made it a year with out agreeing with him..
imported tech workers are dragging down the pay.
Do you really think that Jesse Jackson gives a $#*+ about the employability of white people?
I know there are plenty of unemployed Americans that can do this work; they were the ones doing it until foreigners were trafficker here to do it for them (for less). Even worse, when the indentured Asians have done their time and are naturalized, the firms don’t even want them anymore (can’t work them every weekend and such when they are emancipated). A new batch is imported instead.
In the meantime, the two programmers I know are unemployed or working as a TSA agent in Newark airport...
no, I don’t. but that is also not relevant. I was responding to another comment
The Left discovers right wing nativism. Except that the Left will claim that American Blacks (who have lived here for almost four hundred years) are more “alien” and “other” than them there furriners.
In that case, never mind. :-)
We had one of them where I used to work. She had an "engineering" degree from one of those "historically black" institutions. She had no ability and no interest in the job, all she wanted to do was to work on "black issues". As far as I know, she has a government job in DC right now, which suits her perfectly.
Jesse low on dough?
Is that true.
Id say some of them are from Europe and some are Jewish. Maybe Jesse Jackson is worried about more “Hymietowns”.
I'd wager that Jesse won't be so blunt when it comes to the millions of unskilled illegals pouring across the border, even though these are the ones in direct competition with his constituents. Support for them is too much part and parcel of the Left's coalition for Jesse to speak up on the issue. Moreover, his head would probably explode from the cognitive dissonance.
