A black “Annie” doesn’t even make sense, unless they changed the era in which it was set.

They did. And they replaced Daddy Warbucks (one of the GREAT all-time character names) with some fellow named Max Stacks.

Perchance, is THIS "Max Stacks"?

I mean, if we're going to go PCdiculous, let's go all the way!

On TV some years back, there was a version of “Annie” set in the 1930’s.

Daddy Warbucks was a white guy, his attractive secretary was black and was the girlfriend of Daddy Warbucks.

It wouldn’t faze most people today, but in the 1930’s a white, famous gazillionaire would not have a black girlfiend.
