Back in the day when I was that age, some mother or father in that store would have beat my a$$ and then returned me to my parents That's what I'm thinking but nowadays people are so afraid to intervene, they'll be he ones in jail. I looked at the person who finally intervened (bystander or parent?) he didn't hurt the little sh@t at all but if he wasn't the parent he might be the one in trouble.
Our world has gone insane.

That's part of the problem. Back then people knew each other and us kids knew that. We now live in a society of strangers and people afraid to intervene. Had that been my kid, I'd be thanking the young man who grabbed my child and asking him if he'd like to stay and watch my kid clean that store.
