Police officers in Texas City fatally shot and killed a man identified by family members as Carlton Smith, a 20-year-old African-American. Texas City Police Chief Robert Burby said he was shot down because he was armed and was pointing his weapon at one of the officers.
What happened, according to the police, is that the manager of HT’s Lounge called to report a fight breaking out inside the club. When the police arrived, they saw an individual firing a gun in the direction of patrons exiting the club.
He reportedly pointed his gun at an officer and was shot down. Club owner Harris Aldridge said he reviewed video footage and said the individual did, in fact, make a more toward the cop with a gun.
Some witnesses have different accounts of what happened. One said Smith was shot at from behind, without warning, and others said he may have been holding the gun, but there was another woman who shot in the air to break up the fighting.
Whatever happened, there are reports that after Smith was shot, the crowd of over 100 people threw bottles and rocks at the police. A Texas City PD spokesperson said there were no reported injuries.
As for Smith’s family, they say he was not a violent person and have some questions about the official police accounting of what happened.

My ancestors were mostly French, Cherokee, and British until a couple of generations ago. Now we are a Nice Mix!
Anyone know if this is some of the post-Katrina crowd? Boy seemed too dumb to be born and raised in Texas. Texans know guns, liquor, and women are a bad combination and will get your a$$ shot or worse in Texas. Black or white, it doesn’t matter.
He was caught disturbing the peace during a “Hood Christmas” celebration. It’s a wonder he wasn’t shot by someone in the parking lot before 911 was called. The responding LEO had no choice, he was probably the only one in the crowd who wasn’t hiding his heat. So young to be wasted by alcohol, ugly women, and a gun someone handed to him. That’s what we call borrowing trouble...
I know the media has to spin this for political reasons into something else, but I doubt we’ll be seeing much of those Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson fools down here weeping over the victim. The wind blows hard and changes fast down here and tomorrow he is but a dead memory to most.

It usually works when robbing a store, bank, pizza delivery driver or in a home invasion. They expect cops to respond the same way.
My great grandmother was at least 1/2 Cherokee. Up until that generation, my family on her side was 100% Native American/Cherokee.
Blacks are trying to make their gun toting thugs immune from police arrest and interference. Blame the rising thug culture propelled by rap music and other evil cultural influences like marihuana and extensive tattooing which costs lots of money so poorer blacks have to deal drugs and other illegal activities
