FERGUSON, Mo (KMOV.com) The Ferguson Public Information Officer for the City of Ferguson Police Department has been placed on unpaid leave after referring to the Michael Brown memorial as trash.
According to the Washington Post, Officer Timothy Zoll, the Ferguson Police Departments public relations officer said no crime had been reported in connection to the memorials destruction early Friday morning. Zoll suggested the department would look at any video of the incident, but did not specify whether the department would investigate after a vehicle allegedly ran over the memorial on Canfield Drive.
I dont know that a crime has occurred, Zoll said to a Washington Post reporter on Friday. He was quoted as saying But a pile of trash in the middle of the street? That Washington Post is making a call over this?
The City of Ferguson released a statement Saturday, saying they initiated an internal investigation, and Officer Zoll admitted he misled his superiors when they inquired about the contents of his interview.
Officer Zoll has now been placed on unpaid leave, effective immediately, while the department evaluates disciplinary action.
The City of Fergusons statement says the negative remarks about the memorial do not reflect the feelings of the Ferguson Police Department and are in direct contradiction to the efforts of city officials to relocate the memorial to a more secure location.
Department officials say they are focused on creating a trusting relationship with the entire community and taking steps to improve the effectiveness of the department.
No kidding. Poor guy. Some reasonable company make a call and give this guy a job.
OK, thanks to the confusion our first black president has caused, I will endeavour to explain my intent:
If I took a brick and painted it gold, what is it? A gold brick or a brick painted gold? It is what it is. It could be a deception of the truth. You should not readily accept it is a gold brick because it looks like one, but question whether it might be a brick painted gold and someone is trying to deceive you. Maybe I should have said "What you see is what you get". Does that clarify my intent any better? Probably not.
My intent was to use sarcasm to make you aware the media might be trying to spin the the matter differently than the facts suggest. Of course we know the media would never do that.
If there was anything of value in a MB memorial it would be stolen.
This is an interesting issue. Anyone who has driven on Missouri interstates and highways knows you can't go a few miles without passing some memorial someone has put up in memory of their loved one at the site of a fatal accident. I'm pretty sure that Missouri law protects them. In fact I think the Missouri DOT is required to maintain them and trim the landscape around them. Now admittedly this one is in the middle of the street but depending on how the laws are written then the state may have to maintain this one as well.
What is the difference?
If anyone else would pile a bunch of crapola in the middle of a street, they’d get it removed and they would be fined. These blacks are getting as easily offended as the perpetually offended moozlums. Who cares?
Wait now, does that memorial form a path leading back toward the patrol car?
Sorry -- I wasn't looking for a clarification. I was just injecting a little sarcasm/irony, myself.
Thought I'd add a couple of instances of the word 'is' to your comment, which already included two in the phrase, 'It is what it is'.
Figured readers of my comment would pick up what I thought was an obvious Clintonian tilt. Didn't mean to detract from the seriousness of your input.
No problem. Some of the millenials might have missed your point and my intent.
Panther Whiz is standing tall! LOL! B^)
now to work on a “theme song”
They can’t distingusih the difference between good and evil Imo. anymore than what is Justice. It’s every man for himself whatever strikes them at the moment....
It’s a ridiculous game of tit-for tat.
The culture needs to change which would solve 99% of their issues.
They have difficulty letting go of these Memorials as co-dependent cultures hold tightly to “things” as well as people no matter if healthy, reasonable or not.
Mike Brown FOHEVUH!!
Can’t wait to see what you come up with! B^)
Poor white trash land for this guy... There
