Are the People in air traffic control any sharper then the last plane that was missing?

Amazingly, FNC just bumped in with this BN and said they’d (gasp!) pre-emt the Huckster with updates.
The mention of a microburst/downdraft, that makes real good sense if the plane was supposed to be at 23K but was recorded @ 750ft.
