I don’t know how things are in Alaska, but here we have agencies that could coordinate all that stuff for you.
Prayers up for mom!
And you too.
yes! I agree completely.
I settled in for a nice long read about the Crusades by a respected oxford scholar...didn’t get past the prologue, as it neglected this important fact!!!!!!!
Mud is not good for footing....rest the back. Good luck with getting the gate finished and hung.
Can read music, thanks to the tutelage of several patient musicians of the female gender. Can still read, to varying degrees, Latin, French and German, by virtue of my own efforts - but thanks to Sr. Giles, OSB for the Latin, and Sr. Anna, OSB for the French. Every time I'm called a Male Chauvinist Pig, I reflect on the fact that most of the influential teachers I've had in my life have been women - Conservative women, of course! God Bless them all! |
Good evening, Luv, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Thank you for the hymns.
God Bless our military men and women who have given their all.
Thanks, unique.
Was standing with the walker - leaned too far forward and it slid even though the brakes were on - I barely escaped being flat on my face. |
LOL! It’s funny how we can find so many different things in the same sermon.
WHO called you a Male Chauvinist Pig?
Of course, if you take the root word of “Chauvinist” it is the same as “Chivalry”.
Male is good. I LIKE men.
Chauvinist is Good. I like a Knight in Shining Armor.
And ...Bacon? mmmm mmmm mmm
Howdy, Kathy! God bless you and your mom! (((hugs)))
It is! I guess that’s the sign of a good one! :)
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to The Mayor Family.
Bacon is good! I'm searching, unsuccessfully, for a quote from Sir Francis Bacon, to the effect that there has been no greater evil inflicted on mankind than Islam. I thought I had it saved, but I do not. When I find it again, I'll share it with you. |
Well, if you can’t find Bacon, Churchill will do in a pinch.
Here’s something by the 17th Century Bible Commentator Matthew Henry:
“For all churches that are groaning under the yoke of Islamic tyranny.
Let the churches of Asia, that were golden lampstands, Revelation 1:11-12(ESV) which the Lord Jesus delighted to walk among, be made so again. Revelation 2:1(ESV)
Restore to them their liberties as at the first, and their privileges as at the beginning; smelt away their dross, and remove all their alloy, Isaiah 1:25-26(ESV) and restore their fortunes, O LORD, like streams in the Negeb! Psalm 126:4(ESV)
“
I am going to have to do some serious hunting for that agency. Today and the last couple days have upped the need. And it is starting to affect her attitude. Not good.
He always had the right words: "But the Mahommedan religion increases, instead of lessening, the fury of intolerance. It was originally propagated by the sword, and ever since, its votaries have been subject, above the people of all other creeds, to this form of madness. In a moment the fruits of patient toil, the prospects of material prosperity, the fear of death itself, are flung aside. The more emotional Pathans are powerless to resist. All rational considerations are forgotten. Seizing their weapons, they become Ghazisas dangerous and as sensible as mad dogs: fit only to be treated as such. While the more generous spirits among the tribesmen become convulsed in an ecstasy of religious bloodthirstiness, poorer and more material souls derive additional impulses from the influence of others, the hopes of plunder and the joy of fighting. Thus whole nations are roused to arms. Thus the Turks repel their enemies, the Arabs of the Soudan break the British squares, and the rising on the Indian frontier spreads far and wide. In each case civilisation is confronted with militant Mahommedanism. The forces of progress clash with those of reaction. The religion of blood and war is face to face with that of peace. ― Winston Churchill, The Story of the Malakand Field Force Kathy, I hope this post is not outside the bounds of the Canteen Mission - if it is, please feel free to have it deleted. |
I am sorry to hear that. I will keep you in Prayer!
Is she in the Hospital right now? If so, make a meeting with the Social Worker to get a list of providers.
That’s her job, to help you with this.
Sometimes the trying to maintain balance is worse than a fall. Been there, done that.
Hope you feel better in the morning.
Fits right in.....
