I bought a Mossberg Plinkster .22 bolt rifle for all the grandkids to share this Christmas. I'll train them all with it as they mature enough. Dang thing is almost too small for me to shoot. I did shoot it off a bench. Blaming misses on the gun will not be allowed, it is a tack driver!

Don’t have a daughter, but if I did, there’d be no question.
Especially with the likes of WJClinton on earth.

Good. Let some thug try and molest her in 5 to 7 years. He’ll either assume room temperature or lose his testicles.

And she’ll be safe.

Personal opinion, commenting on the practical rather than the political: I don’t recommend buying a ten year old a rifle for his or her first firearm. I think that a shotgun is more practical at that age. The lethal range is shorter and it is easier to hit the target with a pattern of birdshot than with a bullet. I owned a .410 shotgun by the time that I was ten, although I think that a 20 gauge would be a better starting point. (My personal favorite was a 20 gauge pump action Ithaca Featherlight.) Dove or squirrel hunting is a good way to start. Deer hunting is another good way to start (using slugs instead of birdshot). The world would be a better place if we had more fathers teaching their children to hunt.

What is truly striking about this piece is that it is so clearly targeting ignorant, frightened soccer moms. No one else needs absolutely zero facts, and accepts outrageously insane levels of false comparisons based solely on hysteria and the very clear command that no deviation from the sorority’s party line whatsoever will be tolerated.

You’re watching Hillary’s Army at work. They know they can’t win on facts, so they use veiled threats demanding absolute obedience from their slaves. This Kate Gunn person isn’t stupid - she’s an enforcer. And she’s laying down the law for soccer moms, telling them that if they dare cross the line on gun ownership, no explanation or excuse will be accepted by the coven.

Kate Gunn is one mean and cold-blooded bitch. And one of the reasons she was chosen for this screed is precisely because of her last name - it stand for Hillary’s Lieutenants being allowed and willing to wield “guns,” but never, ever their slave liberal soccer moms. One of Hillary’s many, many fingerprints is using just this type blatant hypocrisy during a threat.

And the severity of this vicious article makes sense - because if the soccer moms ever wake up and realize their Leftist masters are dooming their precious kiddies to destruction, they’ll rip the Democrat party to shreds.

That’s why efforts of the truly black-hearted and soulless to sabotage and sell out their own, like Ms. Gunn here, are so appreciated - as Kate well knows, and fully expects payment for, in the form of higher social standing - and of course, more power. Always more power, the lust that is never filled.

Against my better judgment I clicked through to the article. Not surprisingly quickly devolved into name calling and strawman arguments.

If it is going to be legal for an 18-year-old to own a rifle, it’s probably a good thing if they can use one at 10 years old under a parent’s supervision. Would it be better to have people picking up a rifle at 18 years old, never having a held one before?

My dad bought me a 20 gauge shotgun and .22 rifle when I was 8. By the time I was 9, we hunted together regularly.

Those are my most precious memories of my dad.

She is learning responsible gun ownership at the perfect age.

Wish liberals would make up their damn minds.

You can bet if it wasn’t guns being discussed they would be yelling about being sexist to even question.

Imagine my joy as a 5yr old, finding a Marlin Model 60 under the tree with my name on it.

Dad said Grandpa paid nearly $40 for it.

When I was 10, my Dad taught me how to use firearms. He didn't buy me one of my own, but I was always able to shoot his wherever we went.

When I became a licensed driver, my friends and I went hunting, trap and target shooting on occasions. I just went into my Dad's arsenal to get the firearm I needed.

I taught my kids quite young. My youngest daughter is kind of a dead eye with my revolver. My son is a career Naval Officer. We gave him a Baretta as one of his commissioning gifts. I'm pretty sure that was legal in those days, or the statute of limitations passed at least several years ago.

I'll take my grand kids out and teach them the day they ask me. My oldest is eight, so it shouldn't be that much longer.

It's good knowledge to have, and a great hobby. If you do it right, it isn't particularly expensive. I feel sorry for poor souls whose parents never taught them to use firearms. That's a form of child abuse.

"Would You Buy Your 10-Year-Old Daughter a Gun for Christmas?"

No, 10 is too old to get them started. My oldest daughter started asking at 4 but we couldn't find one to fit her until she was 8 so she had to practice with a BB-gun then a pellet rifle in the mean time. BTW, she also worked on her archery during this time

My kids started getting guns when they were 5, my grandson got his first BB gun at 3 and a convertible .22/.410 when he was 5. He is a champion Skeet and Trap shooter at 18. He loves to hunt and wants to be a Wildlife Biologist.

My granddaughter turns ten next month. Her favorite present today was the .22 single shot rifle with a purple stock. She knows gun safety.

YES!! And our job is to make sure that no Marxist/Communist is voted into office. We should vote for the most conservative person running. Choose and fight wisely in the primaries. But we must vote. We can’t survive another Marxist in office.
