I grew up on Philip but bow Jefferson near the river. Our old house is one of the few standing. It’s incredible what the area has become. A pheasant flew over my car as I drove down Philip.
All those houses were flats of two families. Thousands of people voted with their feet.
When we moved to Grosse Pointe it was quite a culture shock.
My plant was on the corner of Conner and Charlevoix and for the almost 35 years I worked there, there almost always would be a pheasant or two seen out in the storage yard running amongst the racks.......The last year I was there, 2006, I almost hit one with my car that flew from my right to left about a half block from Conner on Charlevoix...
