safety car
My 2010 Santa Fe has ABS and traction control (applies brakes when a variation in wheel speeds is detected, but not ESC). My 1997 CR-V has none of these things, except automatic 4-wheel drive which kicks in when sensors detect differing wheel speeds.
Type ‘small car’ at google then click on images.
No one is safe in a small car.
Type in ‘small car accidents’ and you will wish you did not. Too gory.
1972 Buick Electra 225
#15 Imagine how long the 4 door version was!
That is one big, beautiful machine.
My parents had a 67 Electra. It got up and went, I think it had a 430 ci engine. We called it the gunboat. They had it for about 15 years.
characteristic dimensions:4663 lbs outside length: 227.9 in / 19 feet.
Indeed.
I cringe when I see those “Smart Cars” on the road.
It was light blue on the bottom ‘half’, white on top. Bought in summer 70 for $250. It came without an outside rear view mirror. Because of the windshield wrapping around the sides somewhat, and the vent window frame, the best location for the mirror was on the fender. That’s all I did to it. My friends and I had a lot of fun, driving it in a more realistic ‘dukes of hazzard’ fashion. Sold it two years later.
Only if they come with birth control and will not go over 45 MPH.
They also get out of your way in the fast lane.
I have a old ‘99 Grand Marquis in silver, and people do that when I come up behind them.
And soon, increasing CAFE requirements will make them impossible to buy.
CAFE needs to be dismantled, and the bureaucrats who enforce it need to find useful employment.
If they’re weaving, it’s probably because slower traffic isn’t keeping right. It is a common problem.
If you’re blocking the fast lane, I’m passing you in the right every time. If that’s “weaving” in your world, so be it. By the way, you are the one breaking the law, if you are impeding traffic flow hanging out in the left lane. The bill discussed here passed:
Crossing three lanes in 2 seconds is dangerous. I was behind the whole thing in the middle lane and observed the weaver who was ahead of me the whole time, so my speed had nothing to do with it.. The lane was never “blocked”.
