A promotional video created by Airbus showcases five of their newest commercial jets take to the skies to execute a stunning formation flight and video of the very unusual event has taken the Internet by storm.

That sort of promotional video can be done on a computer these days. I think that one was real but not a big deal.
The amazing thing was someone getting management approval to fly the op.
“Child’s play for former military pilots (which most of them are).”
Perfect visibility, no flack or enemy fighters. Probably not going to impress any old B-17 drivers.
Meh.
Aerobatic passenger jets are old-hat for Boeing. They rolled the 707 during a low pass back in the 60s, just to prove they could. If not for corporate liability issues, they’d probably have no problem with rolling a 747 or 777, both of which are more impressive than those committee-designed EADS products.
Correction: rolled a 707 in the 50s, not the 60s.
At any rate, watching the flight tests of the 380 was more interesting than those slow-motion formations.
I love the sight of aircraft porn in the morning!
Meh
Not very close or difficult stuff. Certainly not “goosebump” material.
And they are producing this stuff on laptops running XP.
lol, I’m thinking of WWII when bombers flew in formation by the dozens. This was overblown, but cool in it’s own charmish way.
Hey now. I still have a laptop with XP on it! LOL!
She was unusual, I’ll give you that, but she didn’t deserve to die!
That’s what I was thinking. I believe the whole dam Blue Angels flight could do their show in the spaces between these guys.
Exactly what came to my mind when I saw it. Remembering films of the wave upon wave of Flying Fortresses on their missions make this look indeed like child's play.
Kudos to the Greatest Generation!
She was unusual, Ill give you that, but she didnt deserve to die!
Do you know what was unusual enough to deserve death? If you know any details, please let us know. I don’t want to worry about my mom and if she is being too unusual.
As to the level of unusual-ness nobody is sure at this point; only that the whole business was sufficiently unusual as to give viewers goosebumps. To be sure, she herself was unusual, indeed very much so. Her death, however, made everything all the more so, which in itself, as you know, was highly unusual.
Check out video starting at 52:55 and specifically 53:41 in B-17 Bomber Target for Today from 1944
I bet my C-17 buddy would be very unimpressed.
Much better link. Thanks.
