I am deeply skeptical of the FBIs announcement on Friday that North Korea was behind last months Sony hack. The agencys evidence is tenuous, and I have a hard time believing it. But I also have trouble believing that the U.S. government would make the accusation this formally if officials didnt believe it.
Clues in the hackers attack code seem to point in all directions at once. The FBI points to reused code from previous attacks associated with North Korea, as well as similarities in the networks used to launch the attacks. Korean language in the code also suggests a Korean origin, though not necessarily a North Korean one since North Koreans use a unique dialect.
However you read it, this sort of evidence is circumstantial at best. Its easy to fake, and its even easier to interpret it wrong. In general, its a situation that rapidly devolves into storytelling, where analysts pick bits and pieces of the evidence to suit the narrative they already have worked out in their heads.
In reality, there are several possibilities to consider:
* This is an official North Korean military operation. We know that North Korea has extensive cyberattack capabilities.
* This is the work of independent North Korean nationals. Many politically motivated hacking incidents in the past have not been government-controlled. Theres nothing special or sophisticated about this hack that would indicate a government operation. In fact, reusing old attack code is a sign of a more conventional hacker being behind this.
* This is the work of hackers who had no idea that there was a North Korean connection to Sony until they read about it in the media.

Maybe it’s time to build fallout shelters.
I have my doubts. It all seems to have fallen into place rather conveniently for Obama and his minions to seize some control.
Either that or it's too late to take the government at its word.
So do I. Hackers are a creative group on the whole. What would've stopped someone else from engineering the hack and making it look like the North Koreans were responsible?
This is a strong 8 on the honking hoot scale...
Only idiots take anything this government says at face value.
The broken English in their e mails is just too convenient!
Of course. Just lone wolves. It's important to remember that Marxism is an ideology of peace. Nothing Marx or Lenin said calls for disrupting the internet. This has nothing to do with Communism. The most important thing is to prevent any Ccommuphobic backlash.
Look at the end result. Al Sharpton is getting oversight of movies that Sony makes, Sony is giving the movie away for free, and there is talk of cyber security legislation (maybe a whole new federal agency)
After reading what Obama said I don’t have a doubt it’s the Chinese and not NK.
The hack on Sony is just a demonstration of what they are able to do.
Obama made a not so subtle threat to the news media they better not expose a dictator wannabe even though they needed to be exposed, which isn’t Obama since he doesn’t consider himself as needing to be exposed.
Obama was talking about Hillary.
The Clinton’s and the Chinese are butt buddies which is why I believe it’s the Chinese.
Sounds like someone has the goods on Hillary collaboration with the terrorist and the news media bettor not report it.
This looks like a high tech version of Hillary’s “scorched earth policy” from Clinton’s impeachment which threatened the release of FBI files to intimidate people.
I suspect this is another manufactured crisis designed to justify the federal government regulating the Internet and corporate networks.
Who cares? Take em out anyway.
Free the NORKs!
Eric Holder: "Hi, NSA.. What's up?"
NSA: "Thought maybe you and Oblammy might want to know that your donors at Sony are making some racist remarks in their Emails and hiring practices.."
Holder: "WTF? Really?"
NSA: "Yep, REALLY.. You want us to OUT them publicly?"
Holder: "Well yeah, but we can't have Sony know it's us who is outing them. After all, uhhhh.. They're our donors!"
NSA: "Okay, well.. How about if North Korea was the hacker and not US?"
Holder: "That's a GREAT idea! Go for it!"
I am too! In fact, I'm skeptical of every thing that our MSM is feeding us today, especially if it comes from the halfwhite house........
The Atlantic is a liberal rag and while they provided 8 or so different theories, they excluded a very prominent one:
**Obama’s guys** did it, to prep the American public mind for a subsequent False Flag infrastructure attack, rather like the Benghazi video red herring, and less similarly like the earlier Fast & Furious, “those nasty narcos” operation to smear gun ownership.
The path is well trod:
First Obama meticulously prepares a conceptual keyhole in the mind of the American public, and then, PRESTO..! Some horrible event later provides juuuust the key that fits, just so.
1. Sony Pictures —> Nasty Kim Jong Un
2. Lights out America —> NASTY UN DID IT...!!
Sorry, it just fits too perfectly. This has exactly the stench of Obama prep work.
WHEN IN DOUBT —> ***OBAMA DID IT***
Well, shucks, is this article also disinformation?
Qui bono?
who benefits?
That is the first question to ask.
So far, the ony one who has benefitted from this Sony hack is Al Sharpton, who has been elevated to now have creative input on Sony projects, and probably is getting a fat check to help with him tax liabilities.
And if Al is the first to benefit, you can bet this is an internal operation by the DOJ/White Hut from Bammy and Holder.
Plus the over the top threats in the FBI’s response threatening “punishment”—really—since when is the FBI in charge of punishment—we have a military to do that.
The whole thing stinks.
All I know , if I was the exec in charge, like Amy Pascal, and my company has been crippled by computer hacks, my private emails exposed for the world to see, and the rollout of my Christmas Day film in shambles, the last thing I would have time to do is meet with Al Sharpton.
Plus Obammy has been caught in another lie. The Sony head said he DID call Obammy, when Obammy said at his presser that the head of Sony should have reached out to him.
Just pushing the false narrative.
Look, big corporations have been fighting computer hackers for over 20 years. Data security is not something new, and Sony has security measures in place.
Someone is sending someone a message, and it is not the Norks. They hare the fall guy, maybe for something else they did previously to the US.
But since the President and Holder lie like rugs, I don;t trust anything they say..
It is believed that this incident involves nigerians and all five computer tecnicians in North Korea, a well-known conspiracy theory proffered by leading think-tank academics from Kindly Observers Of Korean Sabotage
