I absolutely did have that toy machine gun. Had batteries that moved and lit up the “muzzle flash”. Awesome metallic banging sound that was sort of like gunfire if you really didn’t know what gunfire sounded like or, like me, didn’t care. BANGBANGBANGBANG! EAT HOT LEAD, NAZI PIGS!!!

Having a father who was WWII Airborne in Europe, and Marine uncles in the Pacific, that was what I grew up around.
Hell, the VERY first rifle I ever fired was my Uncle’s M1 Garand (I was about 11).
