Cause and effect.
The president, governor, mayor and Reverend Al all say that the cops are a bunch of racist bastards.
Somebody, aggrieved by what these leaders have said, walks up and kills two cops in cold blood.
Cause and effect.
A leads to B leads to bagpipes and “Amazing Grace.”
And when they’re trying to hose the blood out of a precinct car it’s a little late to distance yourself from it. The claims of Sharpton and his crew that they disavow any violence, and that this has nothing to do with their protests and speeches, are, well, just as much a bunch of crap as anything else they say.
Sharpton whores out anti-cop hatred and de Blasio gets elected on it. He ran on an anti-cop agenda and it worked, and he’s bashed the cops since he swore in, and just a week ago they started signing a petition against him.
Specifically, they said that if they died in the line of duty they didn’t want him at the funeral.
Now we’ll find out if he honors their wishes.
And we’ll find out if any of the sowers of anti-cop hatred across the country feel any remorse or change any tactics. Their vilification, day after day, newscast after newscast, was fuel and fire to a seething evil in this country.
An evil that calls right wrong and wrong right, that calls good guys bad guys and bad guys good guys, that spits on cops and curses them and repeats a folklore of enabling antipathy.
And lots of people have a piece of it.
Lots of people have blood on their hands.
Hitler didn’t throw a single rock on Kristallnacht, and Al Sharpton didn’t pull the trigger on Saturday, but nobody who’s honest is confused about what’s what.
And while some of us warned across the country that the rhetoric of anti-cop hatred was incendiary and dangerous, some kept shoveling it on.
There’s good money in it, and votes, and prominence and power.
And they all went swimming in those waters.
The basketball players and the football players and the newscasters and the politicians, from the attorney general to the mayor to the governor to the president.
And now they are doing a little dance.
Talking about how much they love the cops they were earlier in the week disrespecting and cursing.
Basically, according to these folks, cops are either heroes or poorly trained oafs who lack sensitivity for minority people and cultures.
Which it is depends on which day you ask them.
They played with fire and two families got burned. There is fault in this, and where it lies is clear.
People were warned, plead with and begged to tone down their rhetoric, to consider the dangers they were creating. I wrote specifically about it myself twice, warning that the anti-cop bigotry would push someone to violence.
Warnings were ignored and mocked.
And two cops ended up shot in the head.
And now political correctness will demand absolution for Sharpton and the president and the attorney general.
But they don’t deserve it.
The president of the New York Police Benevolent Association spoke for America and he spoke the truth, and when the officers of the department turned their backs on the mayor and the rhetoric which he represents, they did so on behalf of an entire nation.
It is impossible to believe that this outcome was not foreseen, and that makes you wonder if it was intended. You cannot preach revolution and be surprised when it occurs. You cannot throw lit matches about and pretend you didn’t want to start a fire.
And you wonder if someone sees some advantage in an environment of escalating violence. Do they hope to spark a cycle of heightened tension with tit-for-tat retaliations? Is there political or social profit for them to reap in a climate of social instability?
Do they want to see blood in the streets?
If not, then why implicitly call for it?
Why enflame and legitimize an urban anti-police prejudice that is based primarily in prejudice and ignorance? Why further the belief in a lie?
Why attack our defenders?
Why be partner in the slaughter of two husbands and fathers?
That’s what needs to be answered.
By the president, by the governor, by the mayor.
And by that buffoon Al Sharpton.
We are seeing what happens when short-term, race-based, class-agitating, and bigoted politics collides with social reality.
And, just like always, it is not pretty.
The very unreverend $harpton is ready to use his Black Power racist card. His Black Power Racist card is approved by Herr Obama and Herr Holder. Of course American tax payers of all colors will pay for any riot costs due to his use of his Black Racist Power Card.
