When you think about it, nothing much has changed since the days when white people in this country looked upon black people as little more than minstrel-show entertainers.

You realize, of course, that the sports team members would be called upon to hold two diametrically opposed “bumper sticker” slogans simultaneously in their heads, and this could cause either a full-fledged instance of Orwellian “double-think”, or may result in open schizophrenia.
Neither police officer who were slain were, strictly speaking, “white”, but they still represented “The Man”.
