Castro Thanks U.S. But Affirms Cubas Communist Rule By DAMIEN CAVEDEC. 20, 2014
HAVANA President Raúl Castro declared victory for the Cuban Revolution on Saturday in a wide-ranging speech, thanking President Obama for a new chapter, while also reaffirming that restored relations with the United States did not mean the end of Communist rule in Cuba.
In a televised speech that lasted less than an hour at the end of Cubas legislative session, Mr. Castro alternated between conciliatory and combative statements against the United States and the rest of the world.
He emphasized that Cuba would accelerate its economic reform, prioritizing an end to the countrys dual-currency system. But he also said that changes needed to be gradual to create a system of prosperous and sustainable communism.
Cárdenas, Cuba, home to Elián González, is a growing city of contrasts and contradictions, where some still celebrate Che Guevara.Crucible of Cuban Zeal Redefines RevolutionaryDEC. 19, 2014 Mr. Castro, wearing a traditional white shirt and only occasionally gesturing for emphasis, also referred repeatedly to President Obama, praising him at one point for initiating the biggest change in America-Cuba policy in fifty years. He also stressed that with the process of open relations just beginning the only way to advance is with mutual respect.
He insisted as he and Fidel Castro have insisted for years that the United States not meddle in the sovereign affairs of the Cuban state.

Hey Castro eff U
Communists of a feather stick together.
That’s okay with ø.
I want this ESPN-Raul
Castro’s next demand will be reparations for the damage caused by the embargo.
How much money are the US tax payers going to fork over to Cuba to “modernize” it?
As we thought, 0bama is apologizing to the head communist by giving him a gift of millions of dollars, while allowing him to continue being a repressive money-grabbing communist.
Hmmm. If they actually do that, they're done. I'm guessing if they give up dual currency, it's so they can do more commerce with the real worldin other words, they'll wind up with currency that is somehow convertible. But socialism can only survive on non-convertible currency, no? If money and goods become fungible between socialist home and the real world, stupid policies and lousy goods lose, and capital flies toward the better ones.
If they're talking this way, it's probably because they need to take that step or run out of capital altogether. And if they take that step, they'll collapse pretty soon thereafter. They're old; maybe they don't care. Maybe 0bama is hastening the end of Communism in Cuber. (I remember Kennedy's speeches. His accent was hilarious.)
AMERICANS BEWARE!
Pope Francis concocted Obamas unconditional surrender to Cuba Stalinist regime.
Behind Obamas unconditional surrender to the Castros brothers, is the plot to make the American taxpayers liable for whatever the American companies sell to Cuba. The end of the embargo is their goal. "Because of something called the Export-Import Bank there's no risk whatsoever in exporting to bankrupt, murderous and kleptocratic regimes- worse there' no incentive for the kleptocrats to clean up their act, as would happen under a genuine free-market. Also the World, financed 80% by the American taxpayers will open their vaults to be freely looted by the Castro brothers."
Castro helped to bankrupt the Soviet Union, Obama before leaving want to complete the destruction of United States.
In the commercial and political relations of the Cuban regime and the U.S. there are several priorities to be concerned with.
Cuba has defaulted in all his international financial deals and Castro encourages other Third World nations to follow his example. Why are we going to sell to someone without the expectation to ever be pay. The American taxpayers should be aware that they are the targets of the scam by which the multinationals sell to Castro whatever he needs and we, the taxpayers, end footing the bill. Castro for 42 years has been with commercial ties with over 150 nations. Now when he has exhausted the patience of nations fool enough to have given him credit, Castros puppets in the media, the congress in cahoots with some greedy commercial circles are trying that the American taxpayers shoulder the heavy burden of subsidizing his regime to the tune of 9 billion dollars.
From Humberto Fontova
Every atom of evidence shows that the actual people of Cuba actually want U.S. sanctions against the Stalinist regime that tortures them tightened. So perhaps President Obama should stop insulting the intelligence of Cuba-watchers by claiming to speak and act on their behalf. Heres their reaction to this weeks early Christmas gift from Obama to the Stalinist dictator who tortures them:
"Sadly, President Obama made the wrong decision. The freedom and democracy of the Cuban people will not be achieved through these benefits that he's giving -- not to the Cuban people -- but to the Cuban government. The Cuban government will only take advantage to strengthen its repressive machinery, to repress civil society, its people and remain in power." (Berta Soler, leader of The Ladies in White, Cubas biggest dissident group.)
[Alan Gross] was not arrested for what he did, but for what could be gained from his arrest. He was simply bait and they were aware of it from the beginning... Castroism has won, (Yoani Sanchez, Cubas most internationally famous dissident.)
"I feel as though I have been abandoned on the battlefield." (Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet, former Cuban political prisoner awarded the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Bush.)
>b>The list of back-stabbed and outraged Cuban dissidents is much, much longer.
At any rate, Cubas post-Soviet sugar-daddy (Venezuela) is currently in dire economic straits from the precipitous plunge in the price of oil, Venezuelas top export. Their economic lifeline to the Castro regime looks shaky, hence the: here I come to save the day! by President Obama.
But lets face it. Castros Stalinist regime has jailed, tortured and murdered tens of thousands (including some U.S. citizens) for over half a decade and most Americans dont seem to give a flying flip. Fine. So lets consult yet another Cuban dissident who actually serves up some red meat. Lets notify Joe Sixpack and Soccer Mom (who quite understandably find all this human-rights stuff regarding a foreign country utterly irrelevant) that maybe its time to pay closer attention to the issue:
If the U.S. allows financing towards Cuba, it will be the U.S. taxpayers who would sustain the Castro regime. Since it has run out of doors to knock on (for credit), the Castro regime is now focused on the United States." (Cuban dissident and three-time Amnesty-International prisoner of conscience Rene Gomez Manzanoin.)
Whoops! you say. Hows that again?!
"Pope Francis concocted Obamas unconditional surrender to Cuba Stalinist regime."
OK, since you posted the above, you NEED to explain yourself, please. In your remarks, you say nothing about your charge against Pope Francis. Thank you.
***He emphasized that Cuba would accelerate its economic reform,***
50 years after the USA became a nation, we were an economic powerhouse!
50 years after the Cuban Revolution they still are trying to make “La Revol-o-o-o-ci-on” work!
Every place Obama has gone to and/or spoken about freedom and liberation has descended into chaos. Why would Cuba possibly let Obama start manipulating Cubans into out-of-control protests that only serve US global interests and Obama’s ego?
Thanks ,but Cuba will remain in the 1950’s
"Hey, we'll be happy to take all the American tax-payer funded goodies King Barack wants to send us. But as far as changing our system....kindly shove it up your Yanqui backsides!!" said the dictator er presidente of the Cuban people.
“Cuba will remain in the 1950s”
He’s got no choice. Once he had the Cuban people by the balls it would have been suicide for him to let go.
