Conservative Southern Democrats are as extinct as the dodo and they won’t be coming back.
Luis, poor poor Luis....the Democrats radical liberal agenda is what “wrote off” the South. To get the south back, or even become competitive again, they’d have to write off their radical left wing OWS Liz Warren Al Sharpton base.....and they’re not gonna do that.

Yup. Zell Miller has no chance in what the Democratic Party has become today.
He would have to run as a Republican with his kind of views.

In TX, they’ll be waiting a long time... the GOP racked up 44% of the Hispanic vote in November.

I have never understood this. Anybody that knows southerners know they love freedom while despising heavy handed government. How then, such socialists as Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton? People like them do not represent the real south.
...which is why Zell delivered keynote to the GOP Convention in 2004, endorsing Bush over Kerry - and famously asking Chrissie Matthews “what do you want us to do, throw spitballs...”
Carter and Clinton fooled the electorate, largely with their accents and a press that refused to out them as hard core lefties.
Their base hates Christians, white males, traditional families, any one with real jobs, hunters and gun owners and military service people.
Apart from blacks and gentrified white liberals, its hard to see how the party will become politically viable again.
Soooo if millions of illegals enter the voting rolls....then you have, with those numbers a 56% Dhimmicrat majority.
I liked Clinton’s Third Way platform and that’s why I voted for him the first time around. It was a refreshing break from liberal orthodoxy.
Nothing like the centrist Democratic Leadership Council exists in the party today.
but you miss a couple of things: you are assuming “millions” more into Texas, and that’s not reasonable. You are also assuming this invasion wouldn’t drive more whites, more blacks (post Obama) and more existing Hispanics away from the Dem Party - and it certainly would.
The real demographic problem in this country is not Republicans with Hispanics and women, it’s the Democrats with whites in general, and certainly married whites.
That assumes Latinos are racist voters like blacks.
There’s no evidence of it.
