Pyongyang Shuffle: Hollywood In Dead Panic Over Sony Hack
Daily Beast ^ | December 19, 2014 | James Poulos

In the ebullience that surrounded the supposed end of the Cold War, few analysts worried about the nuggets of communist opposition that the tide of freedom had failed to sweep away. Cuba was harmless. China was capitalizing. Those weird little statelets left in the USSR’s wake? Whatever, bro.

........................................................

In fact, Hollywood has amassed so much undisclosed TMZ fodder that it’s willing to do whatever the North says. There is no margin for error, and no taking of chances. Spend enough time in the right/wrong circles here in L.A., and you’ll pick up a tabloid’s worth of sordid stories. Sometimes they’re open secrets. Sometimes they’re videos sitting on people’s phones. Almost always, they’re about the kind of behavior that ordinary Americans revile (or pretend to), but don’t really want to know about. Massive drugs. Massive prostitutes. Massive expenditures. All somehow sustained in a system that’s run by some of America’s most famous corporations—legitimate, law-abiding businesses, of course.

This wasn't an attack on the US. It is an attack on a private corporation that has inadequate computer security and executives with no judgement as to what they post

If a major corporation gets hacked, we expect that corporation to take responsibility, make things right, and strengthen computer security. Now, you have Sony and the feds saying the gov should be more involved in private enterprise? Doesn't Obama have more important issues? Personally, I want less, not more, federal interference.

It's very funny that Sony can come up with a "satire" that kills off a foreign leader of a hopeless country, and supposedly that hopeless country can respond in kind. Has it occurred to anyone that this might have been very clever hackers with a weird sense of humor doing the hacking in such a way that North Korea gets blamed?

And what's the government response going to be? Hack North Korea's entertainment industry. Folks, this is funnier than the movie could ever be. A real live Mouse That Roared.

JMHO

No, it makes Sony (a Japanese company) look like a bunch of kowtowing pansies. This is a matter between Hollywood and the North Korean government. I’m not sure why our government would even get involved.

Which we are under Obama's rule and a worse than useless "opposition party" in DC.

So the Grinch who stole Hollyweird turns out to be a fat, lil Buddha boy in Mao’s clothing using high tech computer wizardry. Folks we got ourselves movie material theme or at least a new video game.

To make it appear they are doing something? Or to distract from other nefarious activities?

They suck at literally EVERTHING they put their hands on.

Are they afraid that we’ll find out Hollywood is a moral cesspool that makes Babylon look like a convent?

"Boy, it must be worse than what I did."

A part of me is saying "the Lord works in mysterious ways" while I watch this unfold.

Hollywood took a dive into the toilet bowl and then reached for the handle to ride the flush down, while taking the rest of us with them.

Many of us keep waiting for that moment of clarity, when the negative results get so bad that they/we have to stop themselves/ourselves.

If one goes too far, or is too far gone, some outside force(s) or event(s) eventually come(s) along and, like a cosmic flashlight, shine some light of painful clarity on our stink for us to see (and smell) it clearly.

Unfortunately, no one has a clue what might bring that about in these interesting times. Things just don't seem to work like they used to.

And now, all of a sudden, we have whatever is going on with Sony and (possibly) the Norks!

From a certain point of view, this is long overdue and the batteries in that cosmic flashlight appear to be fully charged.

Who knows, maybe morality will be going on a comeback tour soon? Yep, "mysterious ways" indeed.

I can’t help but chuckle at the tweets/quotes I see coming out of Hollyweird

After decades of supporting political “correct”ness, they now are running scared as ardent defenders of the 1st Amendment

Most laughable is Maher along with Pascal and other Sony bigwig Obamabots. . . Pascal desperately going to Sharpton’s reform school is laughable. C’mon leftwing HW, demand her termination! She’s a “racist” according to you guys!

What hippiecrites lol

This has reminded me of a quote, perhaps it was Ronald Reagan, a liberal “is someone who’s interests aren’t being threatened at the moment”

Truer words were never spoken as we are seeing it in Sony’s Panic Mode

NK needs a taste of Shock & Awe, cyber style.

I’d like to hear that every computer in NK does nothing but play the Star Spangled Banner, over & over.

This news item is screaming hot and rich for a SNL skit.

Or a South Park episode.

Even so, they’ve done a favor. I don’t know which I hate more, Hollywood and its’ wretched hive of scum and villainy, or the Norks.

The communist Soviet Union use to be able to dictate to Hollywood and block or change projects, as well.
