American troops just had their first real battle with Islamic State militants, after the terror group attempted to overrun Ein al-Asad base in Iraq in the middle of the night Sunday, the Kurdish news outlet Shafaq News reports. The U.S. troops absolutely decimated the militants, forcing a quick retreat. The counterattack was conducted in a joint operation with local tribal forces.
The attack occurred at Ein al-Asad base, which currently hosts nearly 100 U.S. military “advisers.” The U.S. troops engaged the militants in tandem with F-18 fighter jets, who provided air support. The battle lasted approximately two hours after an undisclosed number of militants were killed.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought it was public knowledge that we had a 100 military “advisers” over there. I didn’t automatically assume it was 100 pencil pushers. I think the real crime here isn’t that Obama has our soldiers over there and is trying to fight like some kind of a stealth war with Islamic terrorism. The real crime here is that we aren’t fighting ISIS just because the Democrats have created a climate where any attempt to fight terrorism in Iraq is interpreted as pursuing a “failed war” and a “quagmire” they created in the first place by pulling out our troops.

First of all, it's crap, since these guys are not fighting a "ground war in Iraq." They only defended themselves from an attack. We also have people like this in Ukraine, but nobody says we are fighting a ground war there. This isn't the same thing as an active campaign. It would be quite wonderful if Obama really lied on this topic and we were fighting a war with the Islamists. If this was the case, ISIS would be sorted within a couple of weeks.

My comments were quite on point. It was, actually, other people hitting me with the random blubberings. If the Putinista was speaking innocently for a change, it just takes a quick answer to the question.
