LOL! I’m short and thin, so I ask the nearest tall person to get something off the shelf for me if nobody sees my plight and volunteers. It’s usually a woman who volunteers...men just pass by.... the same is true when I’m trying to get my small carry-on into the luggage compartment. Although lately young men, particularly young black men, have come forward to help, so that’s a good sign!
But that’s neither here nor there. I’m sure the shopper meant no disrespect, she just saw somebody tall approaching her. Nowadays, I actually try to avoid asking black people for help because I always think they’ll assume that I picked them out because they’re black, which Michelle has just proved. Way to go, divisive racist Obamas.
And ignore all the tall black men who come up the aisle on the plane to help me get my carry-on in place...
Yup, you just proved your racist.
If you ask a black person for help, you're a racist.
If you don't ask a black person for help, you're a racist.
If you greet a black person, you're a racist.
If you don't greet a black person, you're a racist.
