A Texas plumber is receiving threatening calls after his old pickup truck appeared in a jihadist video in Syria.
The Ansar Al-Deen terrorist group used his truck in a propaganda video in Syria.

The Ansar Al-Deen Front, an independent Islamist group operating near Aleppo, Syria, posted video of the truck used in fighting.

FOX News reported:
A Texas plumber has been receiving threats after a photo emerged of Islamic extremists in Syria firing a high-powered gun from the bed of his old pickup, which still bears his company’s logo on the door.
An extremist group, Ansar al-Deen Front, posted the photo of its fighters aboard the Ford F-250 sometime on Monday. That prompted a flood of calls to Mark Oberholtzer, who owns Mark-1 Plumbing in Texas City, and has nothing to do with Syria’s bloody civil war.
“How it ended up in Syria, I’ll never know,” Oberholtzer told The Galveston Daily News.
Oberholtzer told the paper that he traded in the truck three years ago. The Houston dealership he turned it over to, AutoNation, told KHOU.com that the truck was auctioned and was likely traded from owner to owner over the course of three years.
This is the 14th post of the same thing.
I doubt its his truck. He probably just found a great price to have his name advertised there.
he traded it in to AutoNation, the countries largest new and used car dealer with 274 dealerships across the USA. It outsells every other vehicle dealer in the USA. ranks number 162 on Fortune 500 list 2014. had sold 9 million autos from 1996-2013. in 2012 their international sales went up 8% to 12,460 vehicles sold internationally. That truck IS most likely his traded in truck! just sharing info
Mike
People are idiots.
When I was in Marine Corps boot camp at MCRD San Diego a couple of federal agents showed up wanting to have a talk with me (this went over very well with the DIs). Seems the car I sold before entering the Corps, an Oldsmobile Cutlass S, had been used in an armed robbery of a liquor store in the near South Side of Chicago.
I remembered the guy that bought the car; he placed a down payment to hold it and failed to come up with the rest of the cash. He left an expensive amp and some other electronics worth many times the car and returned a week later with the cash to claim the amp. I thought it odd how he kept commenting on how fast the car was before, during, and after the purchase.
I gather he never changed the registration on the vehicle, hence the officers’ wish to speak to me. The feds felt my alibi at the time, a recruit at MCRD, was satisfactory, though they acted like I did it and seemed to want a confession. When my mother told the Chicago officers the name of the purchaser, they knew him right away.
I don't think so. The plumber says he traded it in 3 years ago.
Look closely at the picture. It has registration and inspection stickers dated 2014. Someone has renewed them since the trade-in.
If the guy has insurance documents with the VIN number of the truck, he should publicize it. Anyone can do a title search for a small fee, and the ownership trail will be easy to find.
Do they look past the USA?
Maybe Obama wants to ‘normalize’ relations with ISIS... here’s Obama’s and Biden’s deal: ISIS gets all the free equipment they want and we get nothing...
The Toys and Nissan’s don’t have enough capacity to carry some of the AA guns they are putting in them. All the pictures I have seen include a lot of F150/250’s..in pretty good condition. I wonder if their ECU’s have GPS and Cell capacity..we could be tracking them that way.
If the police 'knew him' and he was black - does that make you and your mother and the cops racists for noticing?
I doubt it. But, you could see who was the last buyer in the US.
If I was a journalist, I would have asked the plumber if he had the VIN and looked it up myself, then contacted the last buyer for comment.
But, I'm too smart to be a journalist.
One of my Dad’s trade-ins was found with a body in the trunk in New Jersey. The FBI visited my Dad (who was a church pastor) and Dad gave them the name of the dealership in New Mexico where he had traded it. The dealer in New Mexico had not even noticed that the vehicle was gone and since it was still registered in my Dad’s name...the FBI started with him.
Prices on used American 3/4 and 1 ton diesel trucks have skyrocketed in the last 2 years. I guess I now see where the market is.
I wonder if there is a kit available to install mil-spec pintle mounts for heavy machine guns. JC Whitney ?
He wasn’t Black. He was a tall thin male with longish messy red hair.
So then there are other American trucks being used by bearded savages. Worth investigating?
Oldsmobile Cutlass S...he kept commenting on how fast the car was before, during, and after the purchase.

I had a 1971. My first car.
I rolled 3 times end-over-end then barrel rolled 2 1/2 times before stopping in the corn field, a long, long ways from the road.
All three of us probably would have been dead if it wasn’t an open field instead of a wooded lot.
Fast? Yeah, too fast for a kid without enough common sense. I slowed down a lot after that...
Agreed. There are plenty of stupid people in the US.
Shortly after 9/11, I ran across a website that detailed how vehicles were stolen in the US, smuggled into Mexico, and loaded in containers for the middle east. They ended up in used car lots all over the ME.
I have heard 1992 and newer Crown Victoria’s and Grand Marquis are very popular in the Middle East.
It would suck to be a plumber in that part of the world.
