CHARLOTTE, N.C.
Police in Charlotte, North Carolina, said the second man involved in a home break-in that turned deadly near the Charlotte/Mint Hill border has been arrested. Another suspected intruder was killed when a 14-year-old inside the house shot and killed him Tuesday night, police said.
The two intruders, who police identified as 18-year-old Isai Delcid and his 22-year-old brother Carlos Delcid, attempted to break into the home on Rolling Fields Lane just after 5 p.m., according to investigators. Isai was shot and died at the scene while police said Carlos fled.
Officers arrested Carlos late Tuesday night and charged him with first-degree burglary.
Police said a grandmother was at the home with her grandson at the time. According to officers, the grandson shot and killed Isai.
The grandfather, George Wyant, said his 14-year-old grandson shot the intruder.
"Its not something you can be proud of. But, Im happy the way it turned out. Because my wife is getting over an illness," Wyant said.
Wyant said he heard about the break-in and shooting from a neighbor, and many neighbors are shocked.
Wyant told WSOC-TV that the suspects parked their car in the driveway, walked up the steps to his back porch and tried to get into his house through a back window. That's when he said his grandson came to the window and told them to stop.
The call came in at 5:14 p.m. The intruder was pronounced dead at the scene.

How True. I’ve Pissed off more than one cop quoting the 2A during traffic stops and saying “Yes, I have a gun and here is why.”
I didn’t bother to go down to the BASIC reason...

@1:
"Clean Shoot, Castle Doctrine, now they need to charge Perp2 with Felony Murder due to Perp1 getting killed."Agreed! But it will depend on whether Charlotte, NC, has a competent prosecutor.

"Officers arrested Carlos late Tuesday night and charged him with first-degree burglary."
Why wasn't he charged with felony murder?

I'm thinking that these “ankle bracelet's” need to be move to the neck for easy ID by the Public! And may as well upgrade them to SHOCK (48 Volt) COLLARS!

He should be! IIRC it’s part of the “great” save us all “crime bill” from the x42 years.
I know that charge would be on the list in Texas.

I think we all agree it ended properly. I just hate to see any kid have to try and absorb all of this at such a young age.

They’re both in Mecklenburg County, so it should be prosecuted at that level.

For a second I thought the pic of the grandfather was a joke - looks a lot like an aging Bill Murray to me ;- )
The new version of “The Man Who Knew Too Little” - special guest appearance by Carlos Delcid.
