That’s the crux of their problem; rather than spend so much for the combos, people can just get better food elsewhere. Not so long ago I remember drive-thru lines wrapped around the building and lines at the counter inside; as many people (including me) have stopped spending there it is a lot faster service if you go in now.
I think demographics plays a big part, not just in terms of Hispanics preferring other food but also many immigrants just being more thrifty in general.
I think Mickey Ds made their bones on cheap food. I have heard they will streamline their menu. When I’m driving I like the double small fries and small drink. All on the discount memo.
