I totally agree. Once people in communist countries are exposed to the “rest of the world” it doesn’t take long for the regime to fail or at the very least make major reforms.
Cuba has ‘been exposed’. The country is full of vacationers from Europe and Canada. The only country that doesn’t go to Cuba is the US.
“I totally agree. Once people in communist countries are exposed to the rest of the world it doesnt take long for the regime to fail...”
It is in fact the exact opposite.
It props them up, allows them to take credit for whatever improvements occur and solidify their power.
It allows the communist party members themselves to become very wealthy and then have undue influence in their country and internationally.
No, that does not happen. Red China is still Red China, Red Vietnam is still Red Vietnam, and Russia has proven that communism did not fall. The USA is the one that has changed to become more like they are.
You mean like in North Korea?
You mean like in half a dozen nations in Africa?
You mean like the Russian people during nearly a century under communist rule?
The Cuban people will be oppressed ten times harder to ensure they get no such light of day.
Yup. The only folks this infuriates is the exile community here in Miami. But the reality is that if we can get some capitalism into the people (like a Burger King in Havana for the Cuban people and not just the tourist areas) they'll run the commies out for good. Marxism will simply implode there just as it did in the former USSR. At the very least this will make it far easier to infiltrate some decent espionage operators onto the island and generate some good intelligence.
