This was the only REAL moment I actually liked her...
And she views someone asking her for help as racism?
Obviously it is heightism. Asking tall people to get something down off a high shelf shows a appalling lack of awareness of the prejudices the tall face everyday.
“And she views someone asking her for help as racism?”
Only if the other person is white.
Actually, folks are also prejudiced against white military officers. I’ve been asked to help get things off of shelves, and I’m 3 inches shorter than the Moose. But since I’ve lived a life of white privilege, I don’t realize it is meant to demean me. Noblesse oblige, don’t you know - like the time I helped push a black woman’s car 1/4 mile off an Interstate. And I just thought it was people being nice people...
Do you suppose it was the Moose’s car I pushed? Back when they were poor, impoverished black folk, struggling to live on a 6 figure salary? I don’t think so...the lady thanked me for helping. I can’t see the Moose thanking anyone for anything.
If it did happen, did she stop to think that it could have been because she is tall, not because she is black?
It's discriminatory because it's like asking a short person to hand you something off the bottom shelf.
It emphasizes her height and ropes her into a business transaction she didn't enter the store to engage. "Hand you something off the top shelf? Ain't nobody got time for that!"
Did it ever occur to her that she was asked because she is tall? Happens to me all the time - in fact, I volunteer when I see somebody struggling.
And I’m white.
