Six months after the military began an investigation into the disappearance of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl and his capture by the Taliban, which held him for five years, the results remain under wraps as senior Army officials determine what to do next.
Bergdahl was recovered in Afghanistan by U.S. troops in a controversial swap for five Taliban officials on May 31. He had disappeared from his small patrol base on June 30, 2009, under a cloud of suspicion and fear as it became clear he been captured by militants.
The Army in June launched a new investigation into Bergdahls disappearance and capture, amid a raft of accusations from his fellow soldiers that he walked away from his unit on the battlefield and questions about whether the Obama administration handled the prisoner swap legally. But six months later there is silence about the probe from all corners.
Army Lt. Col. Alayne Conway, a spokeswoman at Army headquarters, and Army Col. Steve Warren, a spokesman for the Pentagon, both said Monday that they had no updates about the case. Bergdahls lawyer, Eugene R. Fidell, declined to comment. Fidell, a military justice expert who teaches at Yale University, was hired in July.

The terrorists should be in jail, but they are free and will lead acts of terror, murder and worse against us.
Bergdahal's actions lead to the death of American Soldiers in their attempts to recover him. BERGDAHL IS A TRAITOR. BERGDAHL IS A TRAITOR. BERGDAHL IS A TRAITOR. When men go to arms in battle the must know that the man next to them is a "brother in arms" that will lay down his life for that of his brother. Bergdahl was neither a brother in arms nor was he a brother in peace. Bergdahl was the enemy wearing the uniform of the United States Army.
Unless Bergdahl has mental problems he should be in front of a firing squad. If he does have mental problems he should be in Leavenworth until he dies.
The real question is why Obama did what he did. The most important question is whom is the greater traitor.
Coverup.
I am so freaking sick of the corruption in this administration.
I really have absolutely no use whatsoever for the federal government at this point.
The army is Obama’s army.
And if they talk about Beau it will be pretty obvious what was going on.
bttt
It’s the new transparency.
PLEASE! This is old news! Can’t we move on to fresh, new issues, like interrogation techniques of the Bush Administration?
From what I’ve seen, the bastard should hang, with his traitorous father right next to him. WTH...
God please take vengeance on Bergdahl. Men died looking for him. Their blood is on his hands, and by inference, Obama’s.
Who did this and got 20 years in Leavenworth?
I would agree, it’s a Article 15 episode....mostly for accountability issues with his weapon. He’ll lose a stripe, be deemed unable to re-enlist, and then be out-processed. Regular discharge.
Bergdahl will turn around, and ask the VA for disability (100-percent) over PTSD issues. Might take a year to prove it but he’ll eventually get it.
The five guys we released? By 2020....all will be back in action and responsible for at least a hundred terrorist actions.
That was to shield him from the media and nasty questions about his (possible) desertion.
He deserted in a combat zone - FIRING SQUAD!!
Line him up next to Major Hasan’s wheechair—a two-fer.
What a traitor!! He makes me puke. I hope an American takes him OUT.
Bergdahl will walk away with a GCD, full pay and allowances as an E-6, and a 100% VA disability status as a victim of PTSD after he is granted a full pardon by Obama. Bank on it.
There must be punishment for desertion.
