Apparently Rocket was offended by the name. You don’t want to offend Rocket Racoon.
What are the odds that someone with the screen name “badger” would comment on neighbors named “coon”?
Which came first— the ‘coon or ‘the coon?’ If coonskin caps were called that before blacks were called coons, wouldn’t prior usage weigh in the consideration?
In a world not run by PC, it would.
That’s exactly whom I think of when I hear or see the word “coonskin”. How could that be “offensive”? What is wrong with people?
They could be.
The Coon family was arrested for shoplifting at a DixieMart store in Memphis in the mid 60’s.
DixieMart was a precursor to Sam’s and Costco..............
