They Olympics hasn't been about amateur athletics for decades (even though that was their whole purpose to start with), so I guess we shouldn't be surprised if they start pursuing leftist agendas that don't even pretend to be about athletics.

They can’t get anyone to bid on the Winter Olympics, and the field for potential Summer candidates continues to shrink because of the massive, and likely unrecoverable, costs. So of course, they use this “clout” to force an agenda.

The Olympics have been politicized for decades. Countries are expected to spend billions on creating an “Olympic Village”, only to see that investment never paying off. Those villages sit empty for the most part.

I don’t waste my time watching the Olympics. I also wouldn’t ever want to live near where they are taking place due to the huge disruption they cause. Nor would I ever want to foot the enormous debt they create.
