Hmm, in light of the growing acceptance of the idea that there can be a right to another person’s life and property, we might actually see politicians pushing for laws against such things. I doubt they’re gonna let employers thumb their noses at them after they’ve pushed so hard for higher wages.
Heck, maybe they can program it to speak English, maybe even including the ending consonants.
When the tech can do the function of the worker, and do it more economically, the worker will be replaced. This was one of the results of the industrial revolution.
WaWa in Philadelphia put touch-screen terminals in their stores about ten years ago, or maybe more.
I’m told that one of the reasons they installed them is because they couldn’t find sandwich people who could read and write.

And if the worker is rational and has a good work ethic, he’ll understand and accept the fact that he has to keep improving himself as a worker to make it rational to hire him.
Unfortunately, that kind of thinking is being killed to make way for the “I’m entitled to it and you have to provide it” mentality.
Now these workers can collect welfare which is actually preferable to the democrats.
So how are you going to disinfect the touch screen after the guy in front of you who never washes his hands after he uses the toilet orders?
Keep in mind Clorox wipes and hand sanitizers do not kill norovirus.
Those screens are gonna be nasty.
Why do consumers have to touch screens with their fingers everywhere they go these days? Grocery stores (sometimes they have a stylus you can use) included. Even small businesses and food trucks have touch screens for you to sign now.

The fine workers at CAT here in Pennsyltucky demanded and demanded and demanded until CAT pulled the plug and left town. A few years later the swell workers at Harley Davidson came within a frog hair of doing the same thing to THEMselves. In the last fleeting seconds they came to their senses.
The root problem, IMHO...the unions; those who are already in place, and those agitating to get a foot in the door.
In the case of Mickey Dee’s the ones hurt most are the entry level job seekers who will now not HAVE a job, thanks predominantly to the insane or sinister bastards leading the democRat party, who agitated for $15 an hour Minimum Wage!
