Will video kiosks work for $15.00 per hour?
The sooner the better IMHO. Back in the late 60s I worked at a restaurant that had phones in each booth and drive-up area and people called in their own orders. Worked great and this is just the modern-day equivalent.
I’ve never enjoyed shopping at Wal-mart but it’s at least tolerable now that I can check myself out using the self-scan machines.
I’ll be in trouble if it does. I’ve not been to Wal-mart in a long long time.
And the tied the name of the food to the name of the store by using a “Z” LOL!
Mmmmm MMMMmmm Yummy!

what exactly is industrial grade hand sanitizer?
I figure the kiosk manufacturers donate to democratic party to support minimum wage increase.
There won’t be many of the places you describe in 10 years. Might as well stop at the blacksmith, cobbler and tinsmith on your way to that restaurant. Automation has been going on since at least the 16th Century. And if you think that the competitors will be “the same price or less” I’m afraid you’re dreaming.
Actually, thats one less step in the potential somebody gonna spit in your food chain. :0
Never order fast food where there’s an all (annoying people) crew working. Then again Micky D’s may have to hire professional spitters just to keep a human element in the mix.
You and I both!
I agree... like this much better than the touch screen thing..
Disposable styluses would create too much trash where people just used them and threw them on the ground, I suppose you could keep your own in your car that you disinfect
yep, plus speech recognition, QR codes, lots of options. Or heck, McDs alredy has it’s customers trained to clean up after themselves, just put the bottle of sanitizer and some wipes out there and we’ll take care of it.
Sheetz Slidersz... LOL! soundz appetizing LOL
I’ll order fast food in my little town because of the particular demographics here. But there is no way I’ll order it anywhere else if I can’t watch the preparation and delivery from start to delivery. No way. They will spit in your food because you’re “privileged”.
Really? non prepackaged food is obsolete?
Robotics, just doing the jobs illegal aliens won’t do for .15 cents instead of $15 per hour. Great idea but leaves a lot of unanswered questions:
How will government deal with the increase of illegals wanting unemployment insurance and other entitlements?
Have they tested these robot cashiers, in say Japan, the mother country of all robotics, to see how well they really work?
Have they tested them using low information voter input?
Can they survive a “knockout” punch and keep on ticking?
Are they multi-lingual and responsive to say, ebonics and Scottish accents?
Who will replace the social security taxes once paid by the unemployed workers?
Will the expense for robotic maintenance cost less than the cost of Health insurance for the replaced workers?
What is the true cost of implementing and using robotics to the business model? In the government economic model?
Will the government give businesses tax breaks and other favourable considerations for implementing robotics.
Will the government use the opportunity to find new ways to screw the American taxpayer out of more of his hard earned money?
Just a few questions off the top of my mind. I’m sure you have others...
Who said I was scared?
And to think, politicians push for laws protecting such actions, while also forbidding employers from retaliating.
I keep a bottle of alcohol hand wash gel in the door pocket of my car - and use it whenever I have been in any store. So far, so good.
It only work for 67 hours to pay hit itself, free after.
