Yes, really, for me, it’s the only thing so far.
That’s not going to help him build rapport with the Muslim world.
In this regards, I do AGREE with Pope Francis on animals going to Heaven.
I’m sure I read a scripture that called humans and animals alike “souls”. When I told that to my friend that lost her dog, that comforted her more than anything.
Hmm? I'm not so sure I like that. I'm having panic attacks thinking about all the ribeye steaks and spareribs I've eaten.
Who would God rather have in heaven? A dog or a democrat? I’d say a dog!
Will also go to heaven even If the dog is a pit bull that killed 2 babies?
And cats too—he says they’re all up there!
If I have to pick up dog poop in heaven I ain’t going.
Without any biblical support whatsoever. Why doesn’t he just go all out and say the animals will be able to talk, dance, perform dinner theater for our amusement, and bring us our drink orders with a smile?
Animals have a simple soul.
They cannot appreciate God on an abstract intellectual level as humans do but they have the simple faith of a child in Him.
Any one who has seen a dog grieve knows how sensitive they are to the loss of a loved one.
“Paradise is open to all of Gods creatures”
Well, I don’t know about dogs going to heaven (Elvis wasn’t even sure about this), but it’s all God’s creatures, wouldn’t that include bacteria and viruses. Including gonorrhea and aids?
What I think is, is that we do not have a Pope...
“You think dogs will not be in heaven? I tell you, they will be there long before any of us.” Robert Louis Stevenson;
“If there are no dogs in heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.” Will Rogers;
Well maybe I am crazy but I think our dog Buddy is there. He was an old soul and the greatest dog that ever lived.
Finally! The Pope speaks ex cathedra!
[are we sure this is translated correctly this time???]
If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went. - Will Rogers
Clearly matches my feelings. The better I know people the more respect I have for my dogs.
What’s the dog going to think about the human he loves the most burning in eternal torment, since that is where most human beings end up?
He doesn’t actually say that all dogs go to heaven. He says that Heaven is “open to all God’s creatures” and that we will see our friends again there.
That’s not a firm article of faith, but it’s a pretty reasonable conclusion to draw. Several books have been written about this in recent years, and the arguments are plausible.
Doesn’t The Bible say Jesus will return riding a white horse? If there are horses in Heaven it stands to reason there will be dogs.
I remember seeing a Twilight Zone or One Step Beyond on retro-TV about this dog that could sense when Satan was near or something like that ... old guy was sitting at a fork in the road and Satan acting like some sort of benefactor kept trying to get the guy to take the right fork, the dog kept wanting to go on the left one ... towards Heaven .... anyway, my Roxie is going with me ....
