As someone who has made a living as a customer service consultant, I understand how this stuff is supposed to work.

I have seen guys like this for years. They will read the fine print and hold your feet over the flames until they get what they want; but if you give them what they want at the receipt of the first letter they will not let that go.

I admit to being an avid letter writer when I feel I am not provided the proper service. But that is usually an airline who changes my flight five times and leaves me without a seat.

It costs more in stamps and time to complain about $4. Usually a visit to the store with your gripe will solve your problem.

And, I might add, stereotypes about groups of people do have a basis in reality. Ask any waitress about what group/race of people do not tip. Ask anyone who has worked in a deli in a city who are the most difficult customers.

This isn’t about money - it’s about ego and dominance. Edelman thinks he’s being generous when he drops his pants so the world can more easily kiss his *ss.

Me and the spouse went to Cracker barrel for thanksgiving since no one in my family seems to care anymore after grandmother died.

Anyway it was jammed and loud which I figured. We somehow got seated way early. We put orders in. Me a cheeseburger and fries and hers was traditional.

They were jam up quick. I got a bacon cheeseburger and hers had a side mixed up. Anyway, both trivial. I pulled the bacon and the side was replaced.

The poor guy was over the top apologetic. We told him not to sweat taking into account the chaos. He told us that he was so grateful because several people have flipped out over way less.
