Talk radio host Rush Limbaugh railed against provisions in the cromnibus that relaxed campaign finance rules on Friday, saying that it was designed to "basically eliminate [the Tea Party] as a viable threat," and "how corporate America is going to defeat the Tea Party."
He explained "that campaign finance stuff...I'm going to tell you exactly what that is...the limits have practically been obliterated which means that corporate donors can just start giving left and right."
Limbaugh continued "This is how corporate America is going to defeat the Tea Party. By allowing limitless donations from that crowd under the rubric that its campaign finance and money is speech and freedom of speech and 1st Amendment, the theory is that Main Street, Tea Party people can't come close to competing with corporate money and so it is a Republican Establishment ploy that kind of dovetails nicely with Obama siccing the IRS on the Tea Party to basically eliminate them as a viable threat by relaxing a regulation in Dodd-Frank that pretty much permits corporations to spend any kind of money they want on politics."
Earlier, he declared "our Speaker of the House [got] in bed with Obama and advances the Obama agenda, takes care of it, amnesty, Obamacare, fully funded, done deal, the election must not have mattered."

Its kinda hokey to call money speech, but you can never run a press without money. Ask JimRob about that. Anyone who is limited in their right to spend their own money to propagate their own ideas does not have freedom of the press. Therefore campaign finance regulation is flatly unconstitutional, root and branch.I was disappointed when Dinesh DSouza copped a plea for that reason - the law he violated is bogus and SCOTUS, with OConnor replaced by Alito on the bench, presumably would have so ruled.
Im pro-Tea Party because Im pro-constitution. And Irrespective of whose ox is putatively being gored in the process I reject the idea of complaining about an illegitimate law being made less egregious.
And so we introduce the grassroots conservative Free Republic PAC! In the very least, we should be able to influence some congressional elections.Expect my support, in addition to my usual start-of-the-freepathon check.14 posted on December 12, 2014 at 2:52:55 PM EST by Jim Robinson
I’m in!
I agree. Take over the GOP - lock, stock, and barrel. We built it anyhow, not the political hacks and deal makers who took over while we slept and now run it.
Let them start their own third party. It will fail just as they are failing now.
We do not!
But Boehner is not in my district, and I can’t vote for him one way or the other.
maybeon ylur ballot it wasn’t.
there were still some races on mine that it was.
“The people of Ohio have to do the right thing and get him out of there before he helps the democrats and liberals do more damage to this country.”
I stopped counting on Ohio after 2008, and they haven’t disappointed me yet.
Bump. They can thwart the Tea Party all they want. But the Tea Party is not a political party. It is a movement.
and i ws telling folks here before the election not to get their hopes up, because until new conservative leadership takes over from the rinos/gop-e in charge, very little what conservatives want to get done, wil get done.
you still gotta have the right people there in the event a takeover is possible. can’t mount a challenge without enough bodies to vote to replace with a better person.
Sounds Grate!
“We are being attacked, because they have the upper hand, to such a degree, that they feel safe to do more than just destroy constitutional conservatism politically, but also to thoroughly marginalize and discredit the ideas themselves. They do this because they know they have won. Not because they fear they will lose.”
Sure, they have won, that is why they keep losing seats to those tea party “hobbits”. Right now, they have only two advantages left, their leadership positions in the party and their big money backers, and one of those they will lose soon enough if trends continue. So they are squeezing all they can out of those leadership positions while they can still hold on to them.
Buy a jackhammer and get rid of that mental block, cause it`s made of cement!
I agree with all but “replace” obolacare.
Before Ted Kennedy rammed HMOs down our throats, the medical system in our country was humming along successfully with doctors and patients dealing
with each other to make it the best healthcare system on Earth, with foreign dignitaries arriving here for treatment rather than staying with their own system.
All that was without the help of a system that was always headed for Death-Panel healthcare run into the ground by a greedy-for-power government.
Obamacare, the debacle that will wear his name forever, should be swept into the trash heap of history and become the forgotten POTrash that it is.
Time for a third party.
CoC donations can’t hurt us then.
Well, we will know in a few weeks but I predict that he will be reappointed either by acclamation or an overwhelming majority.
Looking forward to 2015 and the new PAC!!!
Yeah, so how`s that takeover thingy going? Call me when you even start, let alone succeed!
That guy is delusional! A laugh riot! But absolutely delusional!
... but ... but ... but ... but that’s what self-described conservative Michael Medved says we should do ... all the while defending the status quo of the Gope leadership.
Hiya Amy!
