I felt after 2012 there was no hope of a Republican being elected POTUS again in my lifetime.

[Baraq wins with 8% unemployment (13% actual), $4 gas, surging food prices, trillion dollar deficits]

Now things look a little different...

The next two years will be interesting.

MB makes the point that voters these days are more and more voting the straight party ticket.

I have voted the straight party ticket my entire life and have never had a single regret.

The cliché, “I vote for the man, not the party” Is pure hogwash IMHO.

All that can be undone by the GOP establishment’s acquiescence in amnesty, which would enroll millions of new Democratic voters.

Don’t count out the Party Of Stupid’s ability to commit political suicide against its own interests. Its certainly shown that in passing the Cromnibus crap sandwich last night.

In short, don’t rely on Republicans to stop Obama. They’re too afraid or neutered to do it when their strongest weapon - a government shutdown, is off the table.

Keep dreaming!

With a guaranteed RINO nominee and the Democrat Urban Cheat Machine in full swing you will never see an (R) in the Tainted White House again. Ever!

The GOP gave people absolutely NO reason to show up and vote for them last night.

I smell a DemocRAT. Liz Warren gets credit for creating a more Democrat friendly version of Cronibus in the Senate and cramming it down Boehner’s throat in reconciliation. We should get used to her and the adoption of a Bar and Sickle in 2016.

CONGRESS HAS MADE ITSELF IRRELEVANT! THANK YOU GOPe

Oddly enough, the very best way for the Republicans, and conservatives to win big in 2016, uses the original idea of The Contract With America (bitterly opposed by RINOs back then.) It is a way to keep your core values, yet run a very popular campaign.

Conservatives need to poll themselves to come up with a bullet list of “The 100 most important changes we want to have happen in government.” These are the really vital things to repair what is horribly wrong.

Once we have a “top 100” list, we need to prioritize it to the “Top 25 things” that are the “conservative agenda items”. The purpose is to focus what conservatives in office should try to do as major goals for our country.

Then we take this list of 25 things, and ask Republicans as a whole to select the “Top 20” that are most important to them as well as conservatives.

Finally, we present that “Top 20” list to the swing voters in America, asking them to choose the “Ten Most Important” issues, to them.

So, we end up with a list of just 10 major agenda items, that are wanted by conservatives, Republicans, and swing voters. Importantly, the other 90 major agenda items are still there, but the 10 are what we campaign on.

Simple, concise and clear to the public. 10 things that conservatives want to do if elected. The campaigning is limited to that: a clear, concise message to the public.

The public LOVES clear, concise messages, even if they are not exactly what they want. No double talk, no voting for it before voting against it, no forked tongue, lies, or cheating.

In this way, conservatives get to keep all their core values, they are supported by all but the liberal Republicans and those that are wholly owned by business and government interests, and they are also appealing to swing voters.

Never underestimate the Republicans’ ability to cast victory into the jaws of defeat.

Between now and 2016, we are going to experience a SHTF moment. The government knows this and has equipped bankers and banking regulators with survival kits. The police have been militarized in advance of this. Our political class knows it is coming, and they are prepared to survive even if the people do not. Wall Street has proven that it owns this government and both political parties.

When this moment comes, the banks will close for a while. The bank accounts, pensions and 401k's of the American people will be bailed in or will disappear entirely. Banks will raid the safe deposit boxes of Americans to find the money to survive. American sovereign debt will go into default, and the dollar will crash. We will degenerate into a full police state as Americans are disarmed by their government.

This will be disastrous for the GOPe and the DEMe. In order to survive, they will have to merge to form the Democratic-Republican Party with a Bush and a Clinton on the ticket. The Occupy Wall Street movement will form the New Socialist Party, and the Tea Party movement will form the New Federalist Party.

We will experience a 3-way race in 2016, and both the Democratic and Republican parties will go onto the ash heap of history. In this debate over the budget, we're seeing Tea Partiers and OWS types in agreement as to how Wall Street owns this country. The two movements agree on where we are, how we got here, but they differ on how we get out of it. That difference will be the key issue of the 2016 election.

After what happened in the House last night, it becomes critical that the Tea Party movement give up on the GOP -- the party Establishment will never let anyone like Ted Cruz anywhere near the nomination -- and start a new party. The money raising and party building must begin now if we aren't to be governed permanently by the oligarchy.

Barone must have written this BEFORE the House Bill passed last night.

There isn’t a snowball’s chance in Hell that I will ever see a Republican President, especially a Conservative in my Lifetime. In fact, unless a Miracle occurs, the Republicans will lose the House and Senate in 2016 because of this.

Boner just gave the Democrats a gift. He fed their mantra that Republicans only care about Corporations and the Rich with the Bill’s increased allowances for Campaign Contributions.

So much for the “Loyal Opposition”.
