Everytime the screen refreshes I am logged out of FR
I log out constantly . Frustrating.
New behavior.
Not logging out of other sites on screen change.
Do you not love me anymore?
Anywho, if the current scan comes up clean and you're still not able to d/l anything and/or the FR refresh problem remains, I'd second TLS's suggestion re system restore.
Be sure to tick the little 'show more restore points' box at the bottom to see all your choices.
Windows automatically creates a restore point after each Windows update, and they just rolled one out for 7 a few days ago, so that one will likely be your most current (assuming a 7 box).
Restore mght well fix the current problem w/o creating any new ones, other than the aforementioned need to reinstall anything added subsequent to the most recent restore point date.
My (limited) understanding is that it would also take care of any registry corruption that a bug might've caused.
If several restore points are listed (w/that little box checked) and the problems persist after invoking the most recent one, simply work your way down the list with the next most recent, etc.
Once (if) you're able to d/l stuff again, will also second the suggestion upthread re CCleaner .. another excellent tool, also a freebie.

Freepers keep recommending Malwarebytes and you keep using trend micro...do you see the problem here?
ooops just needed to log in again.
Yes I know, I have TrendMicro on my computer and can access it. My computer says I cannot download malwarebytes.
Interesting. changed some of my settings at fr
Did you inadvertently log in on an “In Private” tab?
I don’t remember how to do that but don’t you have to go get that one on a dropdown?
It isn’t clicked on,
on my task manager at dllhos.exe*32 it says COMSurrogate
Something I haven’t noticed before but I did intenstall some remote printers last week.
Thinking it over, the In Private would only prevent going back to a prior use because it doesn’t save cookies. It shouldn’t cause a logout on page change.
Try Emsisoft’s a-squared emergency kit or Lavasoft’s AdAware. You might need to turn off your anti virus to download them, but I didn’t. AdAware fights with my anti-virus, but a-squared works just fine.
If so, d/l MBAM to a usb stick from that machine and try installing it on your hosed box.
I did a cursory search for 'dllhos.exe*32 COM Surrogate' and saw lots of references to it as a bug in the search results.
If it were my box, I'd try the system restore route first, using a restore point prior to when you installed that 'remote printer software' last week.
That would get you back to a point that you could again d/l stuff, and one of the first things I'd do afterward is grap MBAM, install it, and let it run a full scan.
Be sure to save any open docs first (.doc, xls, txt, etc), and they'll be untouched by the restore process.

How do you do that?
If you could get the mods to put this on one of the sidebars, some of FR's true geeks would likely drop in to help.
cheers
Depends on the confuzer you are using. For Mac, go to Safari in the top left and start looking for a reset option.
For a PC, look under internet options, perhaps under tools.
Go to Info. com and type in ‘how to reset my browser using ****(whatever you are using)
*(i use pale moon, but the IE version i have is 9 .. ymmv)
Lot’s of confusing, conflicting info popping up here. To summarize what I think you’re saying:
1. Your FR cookie is not persisting;
2. Your banking cookies are not persisting;
3. Something is blocking you from doing a D/L of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.4 (MBAM).
These are all symptoms of a compromised system. If you have access to another PC, go to it an download MBAM to it, as well as McAfee’s free “Stinger” program - a self-contained anti-virus & anti-malware program that doesn’t require local installation. Copy these to a USB thumb-drive, and give them both different names when doing so (some viruses and malware look for and prevent you from running common anti-virus and anti-malware programs). Call them something like AV_PGM1 and AV_PGM2. Plug the thumb-drive into the corrupted PC, and run the Stinger program first. That will find most, but not all issues and correct what it can. Once that’s done, run the MBAM install; update the definitions, then do a full-scan.
Let us know what you find. Once you’re cleaned up a bit, THEN we can have you download and install CCleaner - a good, general maintenance and garbage clean-up program.
Thanks for the help...
:)
Just so you know.......I said “nay”’ to voting you off the island.
If you go into OPTIONS/COOKIES on CCLEANER, you can tell it not to delete the FR COOKIE.
Slowness is normally caused by two things.
1. System Registry cluttered up.
2. TEMP FILES exceedingly large.
CCLEANER will fix your registry, and clean up your temp files.
