“Torture is wrong, unambiguously. Period. The end. Civilized nations do not engage in torture and Congress has rightly acted to make absolutely clear that the United States will not engage in torture,”

I want a POTUS that will do whatever it takes to PREVAIL and eliminate America's enemies.

Wouldn't Dick Cheney say the same damn thing up to Sep 10th, 2001?

That's is EXACTLY why they will not call "Enhance Interrogation", "Torture".

Thank you for that moment of clarity on the topic.

We could prevail if we had leaders who were willing to make us so strong that NOBODY would ‘mess’ with us.

After 9/11, a gentleman whom I considered very wise told me that our response should have been one of such power that nobody would ever try anything like this again. But that is difficult to do, when extra-national interests are attacking you. You would have to be absolutely sure of your intel, AND have kept it in good shape.

We wouldn’t have to torture, if we were seriously invested in defense - and seriously preparing for a possibly necessary offensive capability.

Reagan brought down the Wall without firing a shot; but we’ve got politicians now who aren’t that savvy, and who seem intent on convincing the world that we are not serious about our own defense and believe that we can just ‘schmooze’ our way through.

I’ll give Cruz a pass on this, until I hear his defense initiatives, his plans to beef-up the military, etc.
